Was getting some lunch today at Pret A Manger and saw this lovely display by the tills which is raising funds for the fantastic charity akt. So good to see big companies like Pret giving back and doing what they can to support different charities. They already do so much amazing work with their Pret Foundation, making sure any unsold food goes to people in need at the end of each day. Great to see Pret A Manger supporting akt as well. Such a great idea and way to fundraise. 👏🏽

🌈 If akt didn’t exist, there would be many more young people too scared to come out, too scared to be their authentic selves, or living on the streets or somewhere hostile or unsafe. At akt, we believe no one should have to choose between a safe home and being who they are. akt at Pride in London 2024. A very special and overwhelmingly joyful day for us all. But also noting that Pride began as a protest so wanting to strike the right balance of joy, being proud and outrage for more inclusivity of the LGBTQ community. It was such an important day for us to be marching and all we stand for. LGBTQ youth still don't have safe homes, and we will continue to to fight to end LGBTQ youth homelessness. But let me bring it back now to the joyful part. Look at all the happy, gorgeous faces in these photos - colleagues, volunteers, corporate partners all coming together for akt.
