Did you know? 🚁 Air ambulances are equipped with specialised medical equipment similar to that found in intensive care units, effectively bringing the hospital to the patient. They must comply with specific regulatory requirements and carry comprehensive medical supplies to ensure safe and effective operations. #AirAmbulancesuk #AirAmbulances #didyouknow

In an emergency, seconds could save a life. 🚁 Did you know, when helicopters take to the skies during an emergency, they are given the highest air clearance of 'Alpha', to be able to make their way swiftly to the patient. This means that other aircraft departing and arriving at major airports may experience temporary delays, giving air ambulance charities priority access to the airspace.

🚁 Did you know? Devon Air Ambulance flew its very first mission on August 27, 1992! ✨ This life-saving service was made possible by the incredible determination of Ann Thomas (now Ann Ralli), who launched the 'Ceri Thomas Appeal' after the tragic loss of her son, Ceri, in 1986. Ann's tireless efforts, alongside community support, helped bring an air ambulance to Devon, providing crucial, rapid medical care to those in need. Since then, Devon Air Ambulance has completed over 30,000 missions, saving countless lives and bringing hope to the community. 💙 Ann's story was recently honoured as she was named 'Life President' of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Her legacy continues to inspire and make a difference every day.
