    𝐓𝐢𝐤𝐓𝐨𝐤 v/s 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩: Do you know what’s happening? 🤔 TikTok, the popular social media platform, and Universal Music Group (UMG), one of the largest music companies globally that has released songs of artists like Taylor Swift, Drake, and Ariana Grande have found themselves in a big clash. On 30th January, UMG published an open letter to the artist and songwriter community sharing “𝐖𝐇𝐘 𝐖𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐈𝐊𝐓𝐎𝐊”. As the contract between TikTok and UMG was ending on 31st January 2024, UMG requested TikTok’s attention on few critical issues: 1️⃣ Appropriate compensation for their artists and songwriters,  2️⃣ Protecting human artists from the harmful effects of AI,  3️⃣ Online safety for TikTok’s users. Upon inability to get a proper response from TikTok, UMG has now started removing their label’s songs from the platform. 👇 𝐊𝐚𝐢𝐳𝐈𝐧'𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞: We feel the concerns raised by UMG are fair and require proper action from TikTok which it failed to undertake.
