Yesterday, Professor Barn, Professor Gupta, and I presented the interim findings on our research, "Using the Capability Approach to Promote Understandings of Refugee Parenting: A Case Study of Afghan Mothers’ Perspectives in London." We spoke to stakeholders such as children's services, the police, the NHS, schools, councils and councillors, and NGOs. The focus group participants were very engaged and vocal about the challenges they face and the support they need now. Thank you to Royal Holloway, University of London for partnering with grassroots charities like the Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) to give a voice to women who are unheard and silenced. Research continues, and we look forward to sharing our findings widely soon.
