Enjoying the heat in city centres. Over the last couple of months I’ve been supporting our Birmingham Office’s conversion and deep retrofit of Gloucester’s former Debenhams store into the University of Gloucestershire's new City Centre Campus. Opposite the building, King’s square was also recently re-developed including fountains that are inclusive and accessible.  Alongside the planting of new trees and the retention of mature trees this creates a destination to be enjoyed in the heat, providing shelter and relief from the inner-city temperatures and beyond this a place that promotes fun and community. Also a shout out to acknowledge the ongoing dedication shown by James Chaundy , Nailah Bakhsh , NATALIA LOPEZ, kirk wilde and the Morgan Sindall Construction team for adapting and responding to the ongoing challenges of re-proposing complex existing buildings ADP Architecture

We are excited to share that our Granton Station refurbishment project in Edinburgh has been shortlisted in the Decarbonisation and Net Zero category at the #ArchitectsJournal Retrofit and Reuse Awards this year. #WINNER!! We’re delighted to announce that our Bloxham Grove Academy was successful in winning the Delivering Value Award at the SECBE Construction Excellence Awards last week. Bloxham Grove Academy is designed for 100 students aged 7–18 years old, with a complex range of special educational needs and disabilities. These include primary needs of Autistic Spectrum Condition, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and Cognition and Learning difficulties. #award Thursday! We’re looking forward to the Construction Excellence Awards dinner and the Schüco UK Limited Excellence Awards lunch today where we have a number of #nominations. Both our Bloxham Grove Academy and our very own Associate/Employee Director, @NicolaMurphy are shortlisted for the Delivering Value and the G4C Future Leader awards at Construction Excellence and our Gloucester City Campus for the Schuco, Refurbishment & Adaptive Reuse Project. The Academy is a new special free school for students aged seven to 18 with cognitive, learning, social, emotional and Autism spectrum needs and Nicola is the elected Employee Director for the whole of ADP as well a project architect on a number of challenging new builds and major refurbishment projects. Slated for completion next year the Gloucester City Campus is the refurbishment of an iconic Debenhams building to create a new city centre HE campus for the University of Gloucestershire, with a focus on health sciences and links to the local community. Following a very long and detailed planning process - ADP Architecture , alongside Iceni Projects have finally secured planning approval on this extremely sensitive and tricky gap site in #Glasgow on behalf of our clients Consensus Capital Group . Sandwiched between a range of #ListedBuildings and in the city centre #conservation area - we sought to bring a contemporary living product that knitted into the site, yet avoided a pastiche response. The site has been derelict for almost 20 years, and we hope that this approval now paves the way for the site to move forward into development and continue to benefit the Sauchiehall street area and the wider Glasgow and Scottish economy.
