Our aim is to bring local communities together and, with the help of the agencies and services joining us, to provide a variety of information, support and resources - whilst also having some fun! Accent’s Aids and Adaptations team are here to support our customers to live as independently as possible in their own properties. Their aim is to try to keep people in their own homes, meet any medical needs and to live there as safely and independently as possible.   When a customer needed some adaptations to their home to help with independent living, we set to work arranging a shower, aqua boards and wet floor. Our customer, who has now had their independence restored, told us they were “over the moon” with the work done. The customer was also surprised with the level of investment we had made – they had been worried they might have to pay. When we said that wasn’t the case, they said “I can’t believe that, I’ve never heard anything like it.”   Our customer said, “I have noticed a huge improvement with my overall health and wellbeing following my bathroom adaptations. You have helped me feel more comfortable living in my own home and given me the ability to use the bathroom facilities independently, safely and without the support of my family.”

The show home at Fantail View in Spalding was buzzing on Saturday 29th June! The team ran a great event for local residents, pending reservations and new prospective buyers - with sunshine and free bbq food on offer. Turnout was brilliant, and the sales team was there to answer any questions people had. It was great to see the neighbours strengthening their community. We now have just 24 homes remaining from the initial 77 so the sales team have made great head way on securing reservations so far, with many new customers excitedly moving into their new homes over the coming months.

We are proud to announce that Standard and Poors have re-affirmed its credit rating on Accent as ‘A’ with a stable outlook. This confirmation of rating sends a positive message in respect of Accent’s ability to deliver on our commitment to our customers and investors against the backdrop of a challenging economic environment. We are well placed to deliver our new 2024-2027 strategy 'Building on Strong Foundations' and continue supporting the resolution of the housing crisis in the UK.

This week our team celebrated the completion of 75 new affordable homes in Biddenham, Bedfordshire. We were joined by partners Dandara, Pick Everard, WT (UK & Europe) and Bedford Borough Council to tour the site and mark this exciting milestone. These homes offer local people an invaluable opportunity to step onto the property ladder, or rent affordably, fostering a sense of stability and security within their community. We’re showcasing our Bell Road Bottisham development this Rural Housing Week. This scheme of 50 affordable homes is being built with Lindum Group in the heart of a small East Cambridgeshire village. With a population of just over 2,200, our new affordable homes will allow local people to stay in the area they love – whilst adding to the vibrancy of the local community. The purpose-built allotments and play area will enable local residents and neighbours to enjoy nature together. Handovers have already begun, and we look forward to welcoming all our new customers to the Accent family throughout the coming months. #RuralHousingWeek

This week our colleagues toured some of our new housing schemes under construction in Cambridgeshire. Our Development Team regularly offers site tours to colleagues at Accent so they can see how their combined efforts contribute towards the delivery of high-quality, affordable homes. These homes will soon be available across different tenures to those who need them most, and we're proud to be collaborating with Lindum Group and Burmor Construction Limited on these sites. It was fantastic to witness their progress as we continue to deliver a substantial program of new, energy-efficient homes for our future customers. #TeamAccent #MakingHomesHappen #AffordableHomes

Accent and Allison Homes has marked the launch of new affordable homes at Elsea Park in Bourne with a £4,800 donation to local charity Inspire . Inspire is a sports education charity that aims to positively impact young people's lives through innovative and educational community initiatives. The charity’s Founder, Vincent Brittain, met with representatives from Allison Homes and Accent on Monday to receive the donation, which forms part of the housebuilder's pledge to donate £100 to a local charity for each new home built through a partnership scheme. All 48 homes on this phase of Elsea Park are designated for affordable housing, with a tenure split of 65% available through affordable rent and 35% through shared ownership. This Rural Housing Week, we’re reflecting on our ambitious development programme and our commitment to rural schemes which meet local housing need.
