This week’s Team Kudos goes to three members of our team based at Bristol Airport who demonstrated service excellence this week by going above and beyond to help a family.   One member of the family was a young adult who was a full time wheelchair user with sight loss. He and his mother became separated from other family members after security, and upon arrival at the Airside Assistance Reception area it became apparent that his mother had misplaced her small handbag, containing her and her sons’ passports. ABM team member, Nellie, who was awaiting their arrival at Airside Assistance Reception area, ran to the departure gate a quarter of a mile away, to see if other family members had collected the bag and taken it to the gate. They hadn’t.    Nellie continued her hunt, running even further, and 10 minutes later found the bag and made it back to the passengers. The next team quickly stepped up, with Carole Harrington and Shisir Ghirire, jumping into action, grabbing the bag, advising the dispatcher at aircraft side that they were on their way, with the passports. And some minutes later, mum was reunited with her handbag and all happily departed on schedule.   A true example of the team pulling together to #MakeADifference    Team members L - R – Nellie (Nedyalka) Novoselska, Shisir Ghirire, Carole Harrington

This year marks 80 years since the D-Day landings, a pivotal moment in history. To commemorate we brought our teams together to mark the anniversary at Pier Walk and our new HQ. The D-Day landings of 6 June 1944 was the largest seaborne invasion in history. Along with the associated airborne operations, it marked the beginning of the liberation of France and western Europe. ABM recently took part in the JLL Annual Awards in collaboration with other JLL soft services partners.   Held at the JLL office in Canary Wharf, London, the annual awards spotlight and celebrate the fantastic individuals and teams working across the JLL portfolio. In attendance were all the finalists for this year’s categories: Operative of the Year, Team of the Year, Outstanding Contribution, Service Excellence and ESG. We had a fantastic session with our apprentices recently as our Head of Learning, Development & Talent, David Wheeler (Assoc CIPD, MIoL) delivered a "Be Self Aware" course. We were also delighted to be joined by Jashanpreet Singh, our work experience candidate from Featherstone High School in Ealing. Together with Electrical Compliance Manager and Training Instructor Gordon Massey, we celebrated the achievements of all our apprentices completing another year. A special congratulations goes to: - Tyler Burgess Greenwood - Aziaz Ahmed - Charlie Cripps - Nathan Caires-Luis - Callum Aitken And a well done to Alfie Acott for graduating and being employed by ABM as an Improver. We recently hosted our Annual Golf Day at the fantastic Foxhills Club & Resort. The ABM team was joined by its clients and suppliers for a day of excellent golf, networking and socialising.
