7thSense's Ed Patchett is in London today at the 2024 Experience on Main Street Conference: Pioneering Urban Revitalisation. Organised by Experience UK, this conference is rapidly becoming a cornerstone for those dedicated to transforming urban landscapes in the wake of evolving work habits and the digital retail revolution. The conference brings together a diverse group of professionals, including urban planners, local authorities, developers, architects, and leisure operators. Central to this year's conference is the concept of placemaking—a strategic approach to the planning, design, and management of public spaces that emphasises creating vibrant, community-focussed areas. As towns and cities continue grappling with the impacts of COVID-19 and shifts towards home and hybrid working models, placemaking has emerged as a critical tool in reinvigorating and maximising the utility and appeal of urban environments.

#7thSenseRewind >>> Powering the world’s biggest 8K digital dome in 2011   The resolution pixel count of displays (both in and out of home!) has jumped drastically in recent years.    8K for a large-scale display doesn’t seem so much anymore…   But back in 2011, 7thSense powered the world’s first 8K digital dome at the 71-ft/21.6 metre Adler Planetarium in Chicago.   The twenty-projector system configuration produced an overall display resolution in excess of 8.3K – needing forty-six 7thSense media servers behind the scenes capable of running up to 60 frames per second (FPS). The Adler Planetarium was founded in 1930 as America’s first planetarium.

Congratulations to Electronics & Engineering Pte Ltd for being named as Inavate APAC Award finalist in the category of Visitor Attraction of the Year, for the spectacular installation that is The Wonderfall inside Terminal 2 of Singapore's Changi Airports International Pte Ltd. Powered by 7thSense media servers, The Wonderfall offers a brief respite for travellers after checking in their luggage. Situated between two thriving vertical gardens, this impressive 14m-tall and 17m-wide LED wall spans the height of Terminal 2’s Departure Hall. Creating this colossal LED wall required 892 individual tiles, seamlessly joined together into three large and flat segments. The curved LED screen also guarantees you a good view from any spot. Wiinners will be revealed at the Inavate APAC Awards celebration and ceremony on 17th July in Bangkok. https://lnkd.in/euvgF6uJ

Earlier today we had the pleasure of hosting His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County, Lady Emma Barnard, and the Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of the County, Mr John Barclay, at a special ceremony at 7thSense HQ, as we formally received our King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. Lady Emma was given a tour of our production, development and test areas, with presentation of the crystal King’s Award in our garden. Our UK team was joined via video link by colleagues across the world that weren’t able to make it in person. Recognising the best of British, the King’s Award is the highest accolade for UK businesses. Here’s a few shots of today’s event, where even the elusive British sunshine made a spectacular appearance. There’s also been some local press coverage with video of the tour… https://lnkd.in/dAM5TuPW #kingsawardforenterprise #kingsaward
