In 2022, The World Relay Ltd approached us to design a baton for the ‘Running out of Time’ relay, a non-stop relay travelling over 7,200km through 18 countries. The aim was to deliver a climate change message to world leaders at COP 27 in Sharm El Sheikh, while also highlighting incredible initiatives being undertaken to help improve our planet.
The baton, made using repurposed and upcycled materials, not only survived its international adventure, but was such a success that it is being given a second lease of life as the baton for this year’s ‘Ben to Ben’ climate relay!
James Hay, Running Out of Time Co-Founder and Director, had this to say about the project: "Working with 4c to develop the Running Out of Time relay baton has been a fantastic experience. The team understood that the baton is at the heart of the relay's story and the result is something that is unique and perfectly captures our mission of togetherness in the fight against the climate crisis.”
We had a great time working with the World Relay team for their first climate relay, and are so happy to see our baton back out on the road again,
helping to deliver its latest climate message.
