We recruit for some of the most impactful companies in the world of food, beverage & nutrition. And we help some that are a work in progress, too. We could say here that we set up 1485 back in 2019 because we wanted to reinvent recruitment, or that we’ve developed a game changing method that makes us totally different. Yawn. The reality is that too many recruiters make lazy claims like that without backing them up. Ever been told about an “exciting opportunity with a great business”? Ever wondered what that actually means? Yeah, us too. You won't get that on our watch. We actually understand what makes our clients different and we articulate that to passive candidates, so they can understand what’s in it for them. This gives us a far wider reach than just representing the minority of people who are actively looking for a new position at any one time. We work with a wide cross-section of companies in 3 distinct areas: Food Ingredients Food & Beverage Brands Nutritional Brands & Nutraceuticals Some of our clients are known across the globe. Many are scaling businesses with a whole load of ambition. Some are in the UK, some are in Europe and some are in the US. All have a unique story to tell and attract very different types of people. And all value their recruitment process and how they are being represented to prospective employees.     When writing your CV, try to avoid just listing your role and responsibilities. Too many CV's read just like a job spec for your position, rather than focussing on the IMPACT you had. You're in sales? Cool. What did you sell, who did you sell it to and how much of it did you sell? How did you do it? What impact did it have on the business? A CV is a great chance not just to describe your position but to showcase the successes you had. It can be tough out there for those seeking new positions just now, but some subtle changes to your CV could make a big difference in getting that initial foot in the door....

    We've just surpassed 5,000 followers on LinkedIn - it feels like a bit of a milestone! 5 years ago, 1485 was formed in a spare bedroom. 3 office upgrades later, we're proud to be working with a loyal client base, no longer just in food ingredients & nutraceuticals, but with the addition of Andrew Baker in 2023, with some really cool scaling brands in the FMCG world as well. We're not trying to be totally different. We're just trying to be better. Thanks to everyone who we've worked with over the past 5 years and here's to many more 🥂
