At the 10,000 Black Interns Foundation, we couldn't agree more. Mentorship is woven into our programme's DNA. Every intern receives a dedicated mentor, providing invaluable support throughout their journey. Why is mentorship so critical? • Guidance: Navigating a new professional environment can be challenging. Mentors offer support and help interns overcome obstacles. • Connections: Mentors expand networks, opening doors to new opportunities and valuable connections. • Confidence: Mentors provide encouragement, boosting interns' self-belief and helping them reach their full potential. • Skill Development: Mentors offer insights and advice on essential workplace skills, from technical expertise to leadership. • Career Advancement: Mentors help interns define career goals and create a roadmap for success. Mentorship is a cornerstone of the 10,000 Black Interns programme. We believe it's crucial for creating a holistic and supportive experience, empowering interns to thrive in their roles and beyond. About us
The Foundation is dedicated to championing underrepresented talent at scale. What started as the 100 Black Interns initiative, founded in 2020 by Jonathan Sorrell, Michael Barrington-Hibbert, Dawid Konotey-Ahulu, and Wol Kolade; scaled rapidly through their ambition to create countless opportunities that have empowered talented individuals to launch their careers, overcome barriers, and achieve their full potential. By promoting equity of opportunity and working with over 700 leading organisations across the full spectrum of UK industry, the 10,000 Interns Foundation’s programmes have created 5,000 paid internships for Black students and graduates and disabled students and graduates in just 3 years. The Foundation is combining access to industry with training and mentoring opportunities for the 25,000 students and graduates who have so far come through our programmes to build a diverse community of talent who will change the face of British business.
