We are thrilled to welcome over 30 grassroots women from various countries across Africa. This workshop will focus on: *Validating the findings of a care survey report *Developing a community caregivers advocacy and communications strategy *Guiding their campaign for a just care economy in Africa This collaborative effort aims to empower grassroots women caregivers and strengthen their voices in advocating for a fair and just care economy. By bringing together diverse experiences and perspectives, we hope to create impactful strategies that will drive change across the continent. Every child deserves access to information and skills that protect their health. Recently, UCOBAC conducted Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) training for girls at Budibya and Kitodha Primary Schools in Bugiri. These sessions aimed to equip girls with age-appropriate SRH knowledge, attitudes, and skills, empowering them to make informed decisions about their bodies and sexuality. Topics included adolescence, menstrual hygiene, teenage pregnancy, and personal hygiene. 📍Kaliro district In this district, we implement the Scaling Up Community Land Rights in Uganda project in partnership with Ujaama foundation with funding from Cadasta Foundation We have been holding week-long trainings on gender transformative land registration for the sensitization and awareness raising teams and mapping teams using the SYFF curriculum. The training was conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.

Cultural norms, gender-based violence, and physical abuse resulting from disputes over property and land were among the challenges grassroots women emphasized as affecting their land rights during the 2nd Local-to-Local Dialogue on Women's Land Rights held in Naloret village, Nabwal sub-county, Napak district on Thursday. Similar to the Wednesday event, the dialogue convened duty bearers from the Napak district local government, legal officers from the Uganda Law Society, members of the Stand For Her Land (Uganda) coalition and UCOBAC. A general call was made by the grassroots women to duty bearers in their community to prevent violence and abuses of women by working together to build a culture of support, equality and respect for all at the community level. #HerLandHerRight #S4HL Stand for Her Land Landesa
