Nissan Uganda is selling the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E at approx. $72,600. The vehicle has an RWD (2x4), 480 km range with 91 kWh battery capacity. Let's take a look at the battery cpack of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E There are very few variations between the 2023 model and the 2021 model. The Ford Mustang Mach-E can be delivered with two different battery packs - Standard Range and Extended Range. Mustang-Mach E AWD Standard range battery pack: Capacity = 75.7 kWh nominal Useable energy = 68 kWh (10% less nominal capacity) Number of modules = 10 Configuration = 96s 3p Total number of cells = 288 cells Cell capacity: 72 Ah nominal Mustang-Mach E AWD Extended range battery pack: Capacity = 98.8 kWh nominal Usable capacity = 91 kWh Number of modules = 12 (two additional modules stacked under rear seats) Configuration = 94s 4p Total number of cells = 376 cells Cell capacity: 72 Ah nominal Cell type: Pouch cell Battery manufacturer: SK innovation Cooling Uses an active cooling system. A water-glycol mixture circulates through the pack, with the inlet and outlet located in the center. Each battery module has a cooling plate. A thermal interface compound paste is applied between the modules and cooling plates to accelerate heat transfer from module to plate. A worn-out and degraded battery from a 2018 BMW G30 eDrive Hybrid due for replacement. This battery has an active thermal cooling system. But the battery cells have degraded after 150,000 km based on European driving conditions. The situation would look a little different on Ugandan roads, with its unique challenges when it comes to vehicle wear and tear. If you plan to buy a used hybrid vehicle, a battery check is important as you will be looking at repair and maintenance sooner than you think. The battery packs in hybrid cars suffer accelerated degradation compared to BEVs. For every kilometer driven in electric mode, the battery endures about four times more damage than the larger battery packs found in pure BEVs. The vehicle is essentially carrying two power trains which increases its overall weight and adds mechanical complexity ---- more moving parts. Source: EV clinic
