Healthcare in Kitobo! C-Care Foundation partners with Rotaract District 9214 and Eurofoam Uganda to Serve remote Communities This weekend, we visited Kitobo Island, located off Kalangala Island, as part of our C-Care Caring for Communities program, which focuses on providing healthcare to hard-to-reach areas. Kitobo Island is more than 300 km away from Kampala and has only two small private clinics that offer outpatient services. According to the community, these services are expensive, and for major illnesses, residents have to travel about 135 km to Kalangala Island by local boat. During our visit, we provided a range of services, including screening for HIV, Hepatitis B, Malaria, skin diseases, syphilis, and TB. We also treated those who didn't require referrals. We distributed mattresses, reusable pads, Condoms, mosquito nets, and offered health education for girls. This one-day activity benefited over 400 people. This initiative was made possible through a partnership with Rotaract District 9214 and Eurofoam. We are grateful for their support in helping us make a difference in the lives of the Kitobo Island community. We are looking for partners to help us expand our reach and bring essential healthcare services to remote communities like Kitobo Island.
