Today we’re celebrating a little-big milestone — Uptarget.co turns 4! 🎉 These years have been full of challenges, changes, and achievements. We navigated the pandemic, adapted to remote work, moved through 4 offices, and finally created our own space where ideas come to life and projects grow. But most importantly, it’s our team and the values that unite us: excellence, development, awareness, respect, and trust. These are what keep us strong, even in the toughest times. 💛 Here’s a special video message from our CEO Olena Vlasiuk 🇺🇦 with heartfelt thanks to each team member for their impact 🙏

Some people were enjoying the last warm days with a stroll around the city, while others spent this time for personal growth. Our PM Olha Semianyk shares her feedback on IT Arena, which she attended over the weekend: For me, it was a super intense three days, really from 10 a.m. until late at night, since the presentations were happening at three different locations, and it was crucial to keep track of the schedule — where, when, and what event was going on. Since I’m really into cybersecurity, I was excited to see several presentations on this topic. Of course, not all of them lived up to my expectations in terms of detailed and useful content. - But the presentation that impressed me the most was from the Chief Information Officer of UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group. He truly delivered valuable and important information, and the structure was clear and easy to follow.  * My first day ended with some super valuable networking and new connections, which is honestly one of the best perks of attending such massive conferences. * On the second day, there was a really interesting presentation by 🇺🇦 Roman Havrysh about using neural technologies to assess and improve a person’s psychological state. By the way, I even managed to get a selfie with him There was also a startup battle, where six military startups competed against six startups in other fields. It was fascinating to watch the pitch presentations, which were all in English. * The third day, just like the second, continued with more networking. I also attended a discussion about women in cybersecurity, learning opportunities, business opportunities, and how we can increase the number of women in the IT industry in general.  Looking back, I feel such a strong sense of pride for the people who are developing products now, seeking investments, and really doing their best to make their products successful. I was especially proud of how amazing the products and ideas created by Ukrainians are right now. Plus, I was super happy to see not only old friends, colleagues, and acquaintances, but also meet new people.

When you're job hunting, every detail can make a difference—from how you structure your resume to how you present yourself in an interview.  So, what about the little things? Should you crack a joke, use emojis, or ask more questions? In our latest article, our recruiter Yuliia Kaliuzhna dives into how to make your interview not just successful but also enjoyable for both sides. Here’s a sneak peek: * Should you joke during an interview? Yes, if you’re interviewing with our recruiter! But otherwise, gauge your interviewer's mood first—see how open they are and how formal the conversation is. * Should you joke in your resume? We don't recommend it. First, you never know who’s reviewing your resume and whether they’ll appreciate that style. Second, a resume is an official document meant to showcase your experience, not your sense of humor (unless you’re applying for a Senior Jokes Developer position). * Should you use emojis? Yes, if it matches your communication style and is appropriate for the situation. But please, avoid overusing exclamation marks!!!! Should you share all your experience? Focus on the most relevant experience and make sure to highlight that. But don’t skip the rest—give it at least a brief mention, as it could still be valuable. * Should you ask questions? Absolutely. It shows your interest in the role. If something’s unclear or you need more details—ask, even if the question seems minor. One of our favorite questions from candidates is: "Why did you choose to work at Uptarget.co?" * Should you talk a lot during the interview? It’s important to give detailed answers. Talk about what matters and cut down on the fluff. Don’t just give one-word answers—expand your thoughts. If you have more questions, drop them in the comments!

What comes to mind when we see blue and yellow colors? What emotions arise when we hear the tune of "Oi u luzi chervona kalyna pokhylylasia"? What drives us to donate so passionately in recent years? May the dream of a bright future for our land inspire each of us to new achievements and good deeds for the sake of Ukraine and its future generations. Happy Independence Day of Ukraine!

In the meantime, our CEO Olena Vlasiuk 🇺🇦 shared some valuable insights that will definitely be helpful for anyone building startups or managing products. Olena recently conducted 20 interviews with developers to get a feel for the current IT market. As everyone has noticed, the market is going through a tough time—there’s a downturn everywhere—but this also opens up new opportunities to hire highly skilled professionals. Here are the key takeaways: High competition among Senior developers: With the downturn, many Senior developers are out of work and lowering their rates. This creates a unique opportunity for startups to find top talent at a more affordable price. Flexibility of candidates: Many developers are now open to hybrid or remote work arrangements, expanding the talent search geographically. They’re also more willing to work across different time zones, which used to be a rarity. Growing interest in stable projects: Candidates are increasingly looking for projects that seem stable and long-term. If your startup can offer a clear vision and long-term project, you’ll have a better chance of attracting top talent. Focus on technology: Developers still care a lot about the technologies and stack being used. The opportunity to work with new and popular technologies is a big plus for attracting candidates. Importance of company culture: Even in a remote work conditions, company culture and values remain crucial. Transparency, openness, and support are all factors that appeal to developers. What this means: Now is a great time to grow your team. The market is full of qualified professionals who are ready to work under more flexible conditions. And the tried-and-true, top-notch specialists in our team are a reliable and stable partner for any business.

On World Day of Book Lovers, we asked the Uptarget team about their preferences. We share recommendations here, add your own in the comments Oles Didukh - Front End Dev: * Jacob's Century by Volodymyr Lys -> the most emotional book. * The Robot Series by Isaac Asimov -> the best fiction. * Atomic Habits by James Clear -> the best book on self-development. * Getting Things Done by David Allen -> the best book on time management. Viacheslav Shchurov - DevOps: * The Plague by Albert Camus -> the novel reflects the philosophy of positive fatalism very well. It can be useful nowadays. Everything makes no sense - that's why it's great. * Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut -> a book about the Second World War, but completely without heroism and pathos. Rather, it is about how the brain tries to protect itself from terrible events, and in general, a very good combination of comedy and drama. * Generation "P" by Viktor Pelevin -> a very cool surrealist novel about the effect of advertising on people. About material values and sometimes their comicality. #uptargetCOteam

Not for nothing, just a gentle reminder that it’s summer and 10 Phrases signaling you need a vacation: 1. "Even the smallest things annoy me." – Constant irritation might be a sign of burnout and high stress levels. 2. "What did I even sign up for?!" – If you're asking yourself this every morning, it's time to take a break from reality. 3. "That bug will definitely fix itself if I ignore it a bit longer..." – Hoping for magic instead of logic? Your brain clearly needs a reboot! 4. "Let’s just get this done faster than last time, and then I’ll take a vacation... for a few years." – No explanation needed; a break is knocking on your door. 5. "Am I still in this meeting, or is this a nightmare?" – If calls and nightmares look the same you've definitely hit overload. 6. "Where’s my coffee? No, seriously, WHERE’S MY COFFEE?" – When caffeine is your only lifeline, it's time to put down the cup and book a mountain trip. 7. "This compiler just hates me." – Personalizing software errors? That's your cue to take a break! 8. "I can’t even remember what my spouse/kids look like." – Lack of work-life balance alert! 9. "Why do I even have to answer emails after 6 PM?" – A reminder that life exists outside of the work screen. 10. "I can't wait for Friday already." – Counting down to the weekend is a sign that daily tasks aren’t bringing you joy. If you recognize yourself in any of these points, urgently plan a vacation! Even the best specialists need a break.
