Words can inspire, evoke emotions, and change lives. Danylo Haydamaha, a graduate of the Teach For Ukraine Program, knows this well. He organized the "Chytamba" Festival to share literature with students in Hrebinky, Kyiv region. This event was the first of its kind at Hrebinky Lyceum but not the last. Promoting reading opens doors to many new worlds and opportunities

We celebrated the graduation of the Teach For Ukraine 2023-2024 Cohort! This year was filled with challenges, growth, and mutual support. The fifth cohort of the Teach For Ukraine program included 30 participants, six of whom were in their third year. In 2023-2024, the program spanned four regions and 19 partner schools. Thirteen participants are continuing for a second year, more than half of those in their first year! ❤️ Thank you to the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund for your support in making the Teach For Ukraine program possible! We also thank the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House for hosting us on this important day.

Exciting News! We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the first Tutors' Congress, organized by "Teach For Ukraine" in Kyiv on June 17. We conducted three training waves throughout this two-year project, engaging over 7,000 children. The congress in Kyiv brought together 100 teachers with tutoring skills from various regions of the country. More than 300 educators participated in the research, delivering over 50,000 sessions as part of the project. 👨🏫 The project's goal is to address educational losses in mathematics and the Ukrainian language and provide socio-emotional support to Ukrainian students in grades 5-10. It has become the first and largest randomized controlled trial in the education sector in Ukraine. The results will soon be published on the organization's pages. This event marked the culmination of a two-year project focused on addressing educational losses, carried out in partnership with the The World Bank and supported by the UBS Optimus Foundation. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners for their unwavering support! 💙

At the end of April, students led by Tania Burynyk and Viktoriya Komaryn had an incredible opportunity to get a firsthand look at the operations of a global company with offices in every country. Our visit to the DHL office was both enlightening and inspiring. The students gained valuable insights into how a large business operates and felt truly valued and welcomed in the adult world. They also had the chance to practice job interviews for various positions, emphasizing the importance of learning English in today's global job market. Thank you to DHL for your proactive approach, openness, and unwavering commitment to education. We sincerely appreciate your conscious stance, belief, and support for our work. Thank you Vadim Sidoruk, Ruslana Ignatieva.

💙 We believe in the power of communication and are excited to share some fantastic news. Recently, our team welcomed Oksana Ziobro as the Communications Director for Teach For Ukraine, where she will lead the organization's communication efforts. The mission and values of Teach For Ukraine are close to Oksana's heart. She believes in the necessity of access to quality education, the importance of overcoming educational losses, and the need to unlock the potential of Ukrainian students, regardless of their place of birth or residence. We also believe that effective communication is crucial in realizing this mission. 🗨 "I am confident that quality education shortens the path to dreams and makes those dreams more ambitious and grandiose. The two great loves of my life are children and books. Books have already been a focus of my work, and now it's time for children. However, books will undoubtedly play a part here, too! Being involved in and contributing to changes in the educational sphere is what I strive for and consider important and urgent," shares Oksana. Oksana Ziobro is a cultural manager, communications specialist, and reading promoter. She has 11 years of experience in publishing and previously led the PR & Marketing direction at "The Old Lion Publishing House" ("Vydavnytstvo Staroho Leva"). Before that, she worked as a journalist. Now, she is the Communications Director at Teach For Ukraine, a lecturer at Litosvita, and with the Superhumans Centre and "Old Lion Publishing House," she is implementing a social project — "Superhumans about the Power of Books." This project is a series of discussions on ecological communication and the adaptation experiences of soldiers who have undergone amputation and prosthetics. We have already welcomed Oksana to the team, and now it's your turn — leave your greetings and best wishes in the comments! 😎

Recently, in collaboration with the American University Kyiv, we organized a hackathon among the participants of the Teach For Ukraine Program, their students, and students in the 1st-2nd years of AUK. The main task for the hackathon teams was to choose one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, research a problem in their community, and develop an idea for a technological solution that could help solve this problem. Seven teams presented seven project ideas.

Despite the war, we remain steadfast in our belief in education's transformative power. That is why Teach For Ukraine has opened the 2024 application process for young professionals and University graduates to join our fellowship and become part of educational changes in Ukraine. 💙 Remember: the best time to act is now. Over two years, our fellows will not only step into the role of mentor and educator, sharing their expertise and passion with the next generation but also create inspiring projects and initiatives in small communities. ➡ Learn more about our Program by following the link: https://lnkd.in/dsm92q9j
