30% of online Manual QA job postings have over 100 applications. For front-end developers, this figure is 22%, and there are only 230 such job postings online, which is less than 3% overall. Interestingly, among the top job postings with the highest number of applications, there are no QA positions. That is, although there are many QA job postings with over 100 applications, none of them reach 400. Here are the top five open jobs with the highest applications count: ➡️ Junior Front-End Developer (React, React Native) — 755 applications No experience and English required for an American startup 🤔 https://lnkd.in/dSyQs5UZ ➡️ Trainee/Junior Frontend Developer — 714 applications Public salary $300-600, experience is not important, skills are important. https://lnkd.in/dMRhCaG3 ➡️ Junior Java Developer — 476 applications No experience required, there is a test task. https://lnkd.in/d996hbTn ➡️ UX/UI Designer — 441 applications At least two years of experience required. https://lnkd.in/dy9UeTBK ➡️ Strong Junior Front-End Developer — 439 applications https://lnkd.in/df5_SUpC Last year, there was a junior front-end job posting with 1,605 applications. Now the records are more modest, and there are half as many job postings with over 100 applications.

Manual QA positions have increased, DevOps positions have decreased, and JavaScript job postings are once again the second-largest category. Marketing still leads in the number of jobs on Djinni, maintaining a stable share of 13.8% in the second quarter. JavaScript has returned to second place with 5.72% of vacancies. The Project Manager category is third with 5.7% of jobs, showing significant growth over the past year. Sales, which was in second place last quarter, has now dropped to fourth. Among developers positions, the relatively new Fullstack category is in second place, followed by PHP in third. Java has fallen to 17th place in the second quarter, down from third place in Q3 2022. Manual QA job postings have risen from 16th place at the end of last year to 9th place. DevOps postings have dropped to 10th place, down from sixth place at the end of 2023. Frontend developers apply to jobs the fastest, while embedded developers can wait the longest. Half of the applications to JavaScript job postings arrive within 13 hours of publication. If the job has no experience requirements, responses come within 6 hours. The median response time for jobs without experience requirements is 9 hours. For Java job postings, the median response time is three times shorter. However, there are fewer Java postings and many beginner developers. Overall recruiters receive nearly 60% of responses within a day. On average, 8% of responses come in less than an hour. Note: The data includes developer job postings published since the beginning of June and their responses.nTotal: 3,878 job postings and almost 135K responses. The image only includes categories/experience groups with over 100 responses.

Most actively recruiters read applications from C developers, sysadmins, and data analysts. The proportion of applications read by recruiters depends on the number of responses to job postings, but it is definitely not a linear relationship. For example, data engineering vacancies receive 5 times fewer responses than Python vacancies, but the reading percentage is approximately the same. Among vacancies requiring zero or one year of experience, the most read are QA Automation (85%), followed by Sysadmin, Data Analyst (80%), and PHP (71%). Among vacancies for the most experienced: C (86%), DevOps, Data Science, and again PHP (80%). Sample: applications sent within 30 days, at least 7 days ago (to give recruiters time to read them). Only technical categories with at least 15 open jobs (so the reading percentage does not depend on just a few recruiters). There are a total of 92K such applications. The average reading percentage is 57%. The average response percentage is 32%, but it correlates only with the recruiters’ workflow.

Salaries in developer vacancies are recovering after a decline. Salaries in vacancies for senior developers returned to the level of $4-5.5K in June after falling to $3-5K in March. Developers with 3 to 5 years of experience are also being offered more in June than in the previous two months: at least the lower limit has risen from $2K at the beginning of the year to $2.5K in June. Developers without experience can now expect $400-800. At the beginning of the year, it was $300-700. All the salaries are monthly net. Among tech professionals, DevOps and Data Scientists receive the highest number of proposals per candidate. Recruiter proposals peaked in April and May (up to 70K per month) but dropped to 58.5K in June. In the second quarter: • Marketers received the most proposals (almost 13%). • Sales came in second (almost 7%). • JavaScript followed (6.3%), then PHP (5.4%), and Python (4.8%). However in June frontend developers received more offers than sales specialists. On average, a candidate receives fewer than two offers per month. However, the distribution is uneven: 60% of those attracting recruiters received only one offer per month, while 10 fortunate individuals received more than 20 offers per month. The chart shows the top 15 categories by the number of proposals in June.

The number of job applications has dropped, especially for positions that require no experience. At the beginning of the year, these jobs received about 40 applications per month (with some getting several hundred). Now, they receive an average of 25 applications (though some still get several hundred). This is a 40% decrease in six months. This trend is mainly due to fewer active job seekers, especially beginners and those changing careers. In June, a job opening received an average of 18 responses, compared to almost 27 at the beginning of the year. The number of job openings receiving responses has remained steady at about 12.3K since the start of the year, though it was a thousand more in May. Interestingly, QA was not the most competitive category in June; JavaScript positions received slightly more responses on average (61 compared to 59). Among the major categories, C and Marketing positions continue to get the fewest responses, with each receiving about 6 responses per month.

Salaries Have Stopped Falling! Except for juniors with a year of experience. Compared to the previous quarter, salaries for developers with one year of experience have decreased by $50. These candidates are now asking for an average of $650, down from $1000 a year ago. Salaries for developers without experience have bounced back to $500 after a slight dip to $400 last quarter (though this change wasn’t shown on the graph). For all other categories, average salaries have remained steady for at least three quarters.
