Last night, a russian missile struck a hotel in the city center, causing extensive damage to the hotel itself, as well as to several nearby homes, shops, and vehicles. Tragically, lives have been lost, and people injured. We express our deepest condolences to all those who have suffered from this brutal attack. We strongly condemn the violence against innocent civilians. Courage and resilience to all of us in these difficult times. We will remember all those affected by russian aggression. We stand with Ukraine.

Happy Independence Day! Dear Colleagues, dear Ukrainians, 33 years ago, on 24 August, Ukraine became an independent state. But the will to freedom, courage and indomitable spirit have been the main characteristics of Ukrainians for many centuries and until today. Today Ukraine is facing an enemy that wants to destroy the Ukrainian nation, its identity. But I would like to say that you are not alone in this struggle. Now the whole civilized world stands by Ukraine, there is probably no one in the world who does not know the expression "Glory to Ukraine!». Because the values that the Ukrainians have chosen so fearlessly are universal values for all people. Because all people want a happy future for their children, all people want to live in peace, all people want to have freedom of choice. Independence comes at a high price. Sadly, the best die for it. We will always remember our colleagues who gave their lives on the battlefield. But unity, faith, strength, devotion and patriotism keep Ukraine as an unbreakable monolith. On this day, I wish all Ukrainians victory over the enemy. For the third year in a row, despite fatigue and constant enemy attacks, we are all doing our best. I believe that peace will prevail in this country. Our company will always stand by the Ukrainians, will be their steel support. Let everyone have freedom of thought and action – in private life, at work, in achieving goals. ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Opened a New Art Space in Kryvyi Rih on the Occasion of its 90th Anniversary 👏 On August 4, 2024, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, the biggest mining and metallurgical company in Ukraine, celebrates its 90th anniversary. It was on this day - August 4, 1934 - that Kryvyi Rih Iron and Steel Works produced its first hot metal in blast furnace No. 1. For the third year in a row, due to the war, we have not organized loud celebrations with mass events. But the company cannot avoid such a historic date. Therefore, on the occasion of its birthday, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih decided to make a gift to the city where it operates and has been going hand in hand for all these years - to install six stylized copies of world-famous buildings on the embankment of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Park in the Metalurhiinyi District, which were built using steel produced by ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. Thus, a new art space has appeared in the city, where residents can find out more about the company's products and its contribution to the history of modern world-class architecture when taking a walk. Six buildings were chosen to create stylized replicas: the world's tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the NSC Olimpiiskyi stadium in Kyiv, the Confinement in Chernobyl, the Flame Towers in Baku, the ArcelorMittal Orbit tower in London, and St. George's Bell Tower in Kryvyi Rih. Each of these buildings features Kryvyi Rih steel. The technical parameters of the original buildings were studied based on numerous photographs, and models were developed on the basis of them, which embody the artistic vision of the artists. It took 2 months and more than 5.5 tons of metal products to make six stylized copies of the structures. The opening of the art space on the embankment of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Park, which can be symbolically called the Steel Embankment, took place on August 4, 2024. On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the company, Mauro Longobardo, CEO of the company, awarded the best employees of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih with a special sign 'Steel' at the opening of the art space. In addition, an exhibition of children's works created by the students of the Art School of Metalurhiinyi District and the awarding of winners in the competition of young artists who created their artworks dedicated to the theme 'Kryvyi Rih Steel in World Structures' took place on the embankment. Happy 90th Anniversary to our Plant! 👏 Dear colleagues, employees of the enterprise, residents of the city! On August 4, 1934, the Kryvyi Rih Metallurgical Plant produced its first pig iron from its first blast furnace. 90 years have passed since that day. 90 years is a wise age, which is a symbol of courage and strength, endurance and confidence. The company has come a long way, which included the Holodomor, the horrors of the Second World War, the years of reconstruction and Perestroika period, the confirmation of Ukraine's independence, the development of new technologies, and another brutal war. The workers of the plant have always passed this long path and continue to overcome it with dignity. The anniversary unites all of us - the veterans who have devoted many years of their lives to this enterprise, who have shared its sorrows and joys, our employees who now carry the production on their shoulders, our colleagues who protect the country in the army and who, unfortunately, died heroically for it in battle, our young people who, I hope, will become the successors of the famous metallurgists. Experience builds the future - this is the leitmotif of our celebration, which contains the important meaning that without respect for the past it is impossible to build the future. People-Centricity: The Main Trend in HR☝🏻 ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih became a partner of the HR Wisdom Summit 2024, which took place on July 17 in Kyiv. This year's theme was how businesses should operate in the new reality. HR leaders from top Ukrainian companies shared best practices for retaining and developing teams, hiring valuable talents, and, most importantly, creating a work environment that supports every team member. Key topics included stress management, veteran adaptation, working with youth, people-centricity, and human-centeredness. At the summit, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih's HR Director, Kateryna Zaloznykh, participated in a panel discussion titled "Interaction between Universities and Real Business: Examples of Cooperation between Academic Science and the Country's Largest Companies." Alongside HRDs from companies like Ukrnafta, Bank Pivdenny, OKKO, and the American University Kyiv, they discussed how, in the face of talent shortages, collaboration between companies and higher education institutions has become not just an advantage but a necessity. They explored how to build a bridge between education and business, what innovative approaches leading companies use, and how to create a win-win situation benefiting students, employers, and universities alike. ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih presented successful cases such as the dual education program "Nova Fabryka," the "Job Fair," Teacher PRO, and the paid internship project GoPro. "Career guidance is now at a different level. We all need to be more flexible and use all possible methods to make learning interesting for students, ensuring that their knowledge meets the demands of enterprises and that the process of learning production professions is fully integrated into the production process itself. In Kryvyi Rih, we collaborate with 27 educational institutions. Each year, we employ over 200 interns at the enterprise and reach over 18,000 schoolchildren and students through our projects. We are interested in having our children stay in the city—to study, work, and build the future. We are doing everything possible to achieve this," said Kateryna Zaloznykh. Additionally, at the HR Wisdom Summit, the winners of the "Best Employer" rating by the magazine "TOP-100. Ratings of the Largest" were awarded. Happy Metallurgist and Miner's Day! Dear colleagues! Let me greet you with our professional holiday - Metallurgist and Miner's Day! The professions of metallurgist and miner are special, even unique. This is a job for strong people. And now you prove it every day, when you work bravely, despite enemy attacks, blackouts, numerous air alarms. Metallurgy has always been and remains the foundation of the economy. It is very important for our city and for Ukraine that mining and metallurgical enterprises work. This is our contribution to victory, to the future. Many generations of metallurgists strengthened the glory of Ukraine as a powerful state. Currently, metallurgists and miners face complex and multifaceted tasks - introducing new technologies, increasing the competitiveness of products, and, most importantly, being resilient and flexible in the conditions of war. Today, more than 3,000 employees of our enterprise today changed their professional overalls to army uniforms and are protecting Ukraine from the enemy invasion. Unfortunately, more than 200 workers died or went missing. We will always remember at what price freedom and the right to a peaceful life are fought for. We will work passionately - for ourselves and for them, so that their sacrifice is not in vain. I believe that metallurgy and mining are inextricably linked with Kryvyi Rih, with Ukraine. As the largest investor, the company remains in the country. We are going through difficult times together and we will celebrate the Victory together. We do our job. We move on. This morning, a massed inspection of military recruitment office (ТЦК) took place at the entrances to ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. Because of this, part of the staff could not get to their workplaces on time. Such actions jeopardized the production processes of our company, which in today's conditions is trying to survive and work for the state and the people. In particular, due to the actions of the ТЦК, there was no timely reception and handover of the work shift, one of the key rolling mill production units was stopped, and the company suffered losses in rolling mill production. "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" always operates within the legislative framework and cooperates with state institutions, in particular in the field of mobilization. Today, more than 3,000 of our employees protect the country in the ranks of the Armed Forces. 167 of our colleagues lost their lives for the freedom and independence of the country. Reservation processes at the company are transparent and take place in accordance with the law. We consider the actions of ТЦК representatives as demotivating and and threatening to cause the further shutdown of the company's production facilities. We hope that these processes will be streamlined and will take into account the specifics and importance of the smooth operation of the strategic enterprise, which is the largest foreign investment in Ukraine and the largest mining and metallurgical plant of Ukraine.
