ESRF WELCOMES A NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) staff welcomed the New Executive Director - Professor Fortunata Sangora Makene who arrived at ESRF grounds at 8:00am The Executive Director received clapping ovation from the ESRF’s Staff led by the Interim Executive Director, Prof. Samuel Wangwe. At noon Professor Makene had a short meeting with ESRF staff where she thanked them for the heartily welcome extended to her. In her short speech, the Executive Director mentioned four key areas which will take ESRF to higher heights. Prof. Fortunata Songora Makene is an expert in development sociology, gender, and social protection. She has extensive experience in academic and policy research. Her work is rooted primarily in sociology, but it incorporates elements of law and anthropology.

The Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) is a policy think tank in Tanzania established in 1992 to undertake socio-economic policy research. The mandate of ESRF includes also developing human and institutional capacities for policy analysis, evidence-based decision making and understanding policy options for development management.
