Tatiana Maslany is about to get down with the boogeyman: The Orphan Black actress is set to produce and star in a pilot for Amazon MGM Studios called The Nightbeast, Deadline reported Monday.
Helmed by Leah Rachel (Chambers) and Travis Jackson (Hemlock Grove), The Nightbeast follows “a young mother who is unsatisfied with her seemingly perfect suburban life, so she begins an affair with the boogeyman in her son’s closet — a surprisingly sexy man called the Nightbeast,” reads the description. “But this harmless affair she thought to be a figment of her imagination begins to have unexpected consequences, as her two worlds increasingly begin to collide in this seductive, darkly comedic tale.”
Executive producers for the project include Peter Warren, Justin Levy, Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Kristen Campo and director Jamie Babbit.
Maslany, who won an Emmy in 2016 for playing multiple clones in Orphan Black, also starred in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Perry Mason and Heartland. Her guest-starring credits include Parks and Recreation, Being Erica, The Nativity and Drunk History, among others. On the film side of things, she starred with Nicole Kidman in Destroyer and Jake Gyllenhaal in Stronger.

“A young mother who is unsatisfied with her seemingly perfect suburban life, so she begins an affair with the boogeyman in her son’s closet.”
–Umm… what?
I agree lol, definitely not my thing won’t be watching but at least it’s an original idea and not another crappy reboot I give them that.
It sounds like something a, um, generally adult demographic targeting streaming service would come up with.
I’ve followed her career since Orphan Black and so far everything has been great. I was surprised She Hulk was not removed. This one sounds a little weird, at least the starting premise of an affair with a guy in a closet, but I’ll watch it, it could turn out to be as good as O.B., which was also cancelled or ended to soon.
Oh this sounds incredible I’m so signed on
Can’t wait to have her back on my screen!
The projects she picks are certainly never boring.
I’m out as soon as I read affair. Hollywood over uses cheating so much that it’s disgusting.
“But this harmless affair she thought to be a FIGMENT of her IMAGINATION…”
Wait til you hear about how affairs happen IRL too.
I’m in!
Well we know the boogeyman won’t be The Babadook because he doesn’t swing that way.
I like her as an actress but the premise isn’t something I’m interested in.
After that horrible She-Hulk? No thanks
1) You clearly didn’t actually watch She-Hulk, or possibly didn’t actually read any She-Hulk comics. Definitely one or the other, if not both.
.
2) Let’s assume for a moment that you genuinely hated She-Hulk rather than jumping on the internet bandwagon. Oh yes, “I thought this other show this actress starred in was bad, so I will never watch her in anything again”. That’s so much better and more mature!
Tatiana is awesome… if she is in it, I am watching it! She could be reading the phone book and my attention would be captivated.
Yes absolutely
