Missing Memories is a small game about being misgendered and finding your own validation.
It was inspired by a very real memory.

The soundtrack is really light and cute! Your parent (mom, maybe?) continuously misgendering the player causes discordant, cringe-inducing notes through what would otherwise be a cheerful, nostalgic game. Treading through memories while trans can feel like that. I recommend this to anyone who likes small, indie games!
Is the music made in Beepbox? I feel like I recognize the noises... Maybe I'm just imagining.
Yyyep! I Iove using beepbox for a lot of my smaller projects, I'm releasing a smaller album of songs from it later this month.

I only learned after I was finished about tools I could have used to automate most of the process, so it was all done by hand.
Don't ever do pixel animation by hand.
