Our new Signaling X brings streamlined rail operations to the cloud for the first time. Earlier today, we celebrated the grand opening of our Goole Rail Village, where we will build all future trains for the UK. We were thrilled to announce an additional up to £40 million investment in a state-of-the-art Bogie Assembly and Service Centre. This announcement builds on our existing investment of up to £200 million in the Yorkshire region and will create up to 300 jobs. The assembly and service centre will allow us to manufacture bogies in the UK for the very first time, a significant step forward in our mission to #TransformTheEveryday for passengers across Britain.👏 It was a wonderful occasion shared with our local partners, suppliers, customers and dedicated team. 🥳 We had the honour of welcoming the Secretary of State for Transport, Louise Haigh MP, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, Deputy Mayor Seb Dance and Andy Lord from Transport for London as part of this celebration. We’ve invested up to £200 million in a cutting-edge rail village in Goole, East Yorkshire, to transform the UK’s rail network. 🙌 At our Goole facility, we’re assembling the next generation of Piccadilly line trains, enhancing everyday journeys for millions of people across London. Recently, we signed a new contract worth about EUR 270 million, marking our third order for the Cross Island Line (CRL) in #Singapore. This contract includes a comprehensive solution to design, supply, test, and commission the power supply system for the Cross Island Line. It follows previous orders in 2022 and 2023 for the Overhead Catenary Rigid Power Supply system, Trainguard MT CBTC signaling systems, and full-height platform screen doors. Our digital rail solutions will enhance the availability and reliability of the CRL metro line, utilizing regenerative energy recovery technology. This aligns perfectly with the Singapore Green Plan, providing a sustainable transport option for millions of passengers. Day 4 at #InnoTrans2024 was all about sustainability! 🌱 #TeamSiemens shone as TÜV SÜD awarded us a phenomenal 91% rating for our Dortmund depot, and we introduced the Mireo Plus H hydrogen and Mireo Plus B battery trains, set to cut carbon emissions by 14.5 million kg annually. 🚆💚 We even went onboard for a test drive with the Mireo Plus H, showcasing its potential to replace diesel.
