Last week, we had the privilege of attending the YASAD Software Industrialists Association's 2nd #Software Industry and #Globalization Summit🌟 The event showcased Türkiye's growing significance as a premier software hub both regionally and globally, attracting significant attention from international investors 🚀 Here are some key takeaways highlighting Türkiye's success: 🌱 Türkiye boasts a youthful and tech-savvy population, with 48% under the age of 30, fueling a vibrant tech ecosystem. 🎓 Each year, the country produces approximately 98,000 engineering graduates, with 35% being women, showcasing significant gender diversity in tech. 👩💻 By the end of 2023, Türkiye had 285,000 active developers, including 40,000 freelancers. As of early 2024, this number is nearing 300,000! 🌍 Over 70% of 400 Turkish founders with overseas startups maintain R&D and engineering teams in Türkiye, demonstrating the country's strong talent pool. As a result, Türkiye stands out as one of the largest markets in Eastern Europe and the Middle East in terms of both population and GDP 📈 With a population of 87 million, Türkiye is significantly large compared to Eastern Europe's 100 million and MENA's 500 million. Moreover, Türkiye's R&D expenditures account for 1.4% of its GDP, higher than Eastern Europe's 1.33% and MENA's 1.18% 📊 Türkiye's dynamic ecosystem and strategic positioning make it a key player in the global software industry 🚀🌍💻

The first four months of 2024 have been very busy and rewarding for Revo Capital. Our portfolio companies ikas, Midas, and Bumper UK raised $100 million as the momentum is building in the investment landscape, not just in Türkiye but globally, and Türkiye's startup ecosystem is seeing growing interest from investors around the world. With over 900 seed-stage companies raising funds between 2020 and 2023 in Türkiye, the time has come for their Series A rounds and global expansion. As Revo Capital, we're launching our $100 million Fund III to support the emergence of category-leading companies from Türkiye by continuing to fill the critical Series A/B funding gap. Midas’s $45M Series A round marked the largest Series A funding round for a fintech startup in Türkiye, led by global investor Portage .
