As part of the "DeMoBat - Industrial disassembly of batteries and electric motors" project, the Fraunhofer IPA and KUKA are successfully researching the #disassembly of disused car batteries. 🚙🔋    E-mobility is the future of the #automotive industry. But more e-vehicles lead to more used #batteries. At the same time, production is becoming more expensive. #Recycling is the answer - and our KR QUANTEC plays a key role in this.    In order to recycle batteries effectively, they need to be specially processed. This requires qualified specialists, is time-consuming and cost-intensive and involves considerable risks.   Highly flexible battery pack production for Webasto Group Electromobility plays an important role in today's world and has also left its mark on the automotive industry's system partners. As a global system partner to car manufacturers, #KUKA supplied #Webasto with a production system for battery systems. At the Webasto plant in Schierling, Regensburg district, Bavaria, #KUKA ensured the implementation and networking of the individual production steps and the smooth manufacturing process of battery pack production with a highly flexible #Multi-Product-Line to enable the production of different battery types. As the heart of electric vehicles, the battery requires high precision in the tightest of spaces during assembly and handling. The system was therefore designed to save space and is also transparent: it provides Webasto with an overview of process data to carry out analyses and continuously #optimize production processes. From Theory to Practice: Robotics Education at DHBW Stuttgart ! 🤖 Students at DHBW Stuttgart are trading dry theory for hands-on programming in their robotics lectures using educational 6-axis robots developed by OrangeApps GmbH. These toy-sized robots made from LEGO bricks offer a fully functional introduction to KUKA system software. Klaus Meeners teaches students with these educational robots before they advance to full-sized KUKA robots at the Mercedes-Benz training center in Sindelfingen. This practical approach not only makes learning enjoyable but also prepares students for real-world applications in the industry. "It's always great to see students understand and operate the modular robots after the first lesson," says Klaus Meeners. 🤖 We are delighted about our long-standing partnership with Siemens Healthineers!   Our KUKA KR QUANTEC robot is at the heart of Siemens Healthineers' state-of-the-art ARTIS pheno X-ray imaging system. It is used for various medical treatments, such as the examination of vascular diseases or the repair of heart valves. The robot moves the C-arm with X-ray source and image converter around the patient. The surgeon has optimal access to the surgical field during the procedure and is supported by imaging. As of 2016, the system is already in use in more than 550 clinics worldwide; including earlier versions, well over 1,200 of these innovative systems have been installed.
