West Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA) is a regional public authority in the TR61 region of Turkey. It is responsible for building and facilitating regional plans, strategies, and operational programs, with a focus on entrepreneurship, alternative tourism, and medicinal and aromatic plants in the Antalya, Burdur, and Isparta provinces. Additionally, BAKA conducts investment support, employment, and SME development facilities and projects in the region.
Through a one-stop-shop approach, the agency offers, all free of charge, an extensive range of services including identifying market opportunities, providing pertinent economic information, reviewing business sectors, locating sites, assisting in legal and licensing procedures, explaining incentives available to investors and finding companies for potential partnership. The agency works with the backing of all governmental bodies and follows a private sector approach. The board of directors of the agency includes the governors of the three provinces that make up the region, the mayors of the provinces and the chairmen of the chambers of commerce and industry of the three provinces.
