Guest Reviewer Programme – Become a Theatre Reviewer

 

Are you a theatre lover with a flair for writing and a passion for the arts? Do you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyse performances critically? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you as a Theatre Reviewer!

We are currently seeking  Theatre Reviewers to join our Guest Reviewer Programme. As a Theatre Reviewer, you will play a crucial role in providing insightful and engaging reviews of theatre performances. We’re happy to accept applications from across the UK, but the majority of opportunities will be in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend a wide range of theatre performances, including plays, musicals, and other theatrical productions.  You get to choose which shows you cover, but you’ll need to commit to attending at least two shows per month.
  • Write detailed and thought-provoking reviews that capture the essence of the performances and provide valuable feedback on various aspects such as acting, directing, script, production values, and overall impact.
  • Submit reviews in a timely manner to be published on our social media platforms and website.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, news, and developments in the theatre industry, both locally and nationally.

Requirements:

  • Lover of theatre.
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to craft engaging, insightful, and unbiased reviews.
  • Deep understanding and appreciation of theatre, with the ability to analyse performances critically and objectively.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Availability to attend at least two theatre performances per month in your chosen location.
