AWFE
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
AWFE is a falling-sand game where you start with only four basic elements and mix them to unlock new ones.
Features:
-15 elements, which interact with each other in cool-looking ways
-World sizes from 32x32 to 512x512
-A lot of things to burn and blow up
-Low hardware requirements (you can run this game)
Known issues:
-Blurry text on windows with non-100% UI scaling. Workaround: right click on the executable -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Change high DPI settings -> Override high DPI scaling behavior.
-New world not loading all four basic elements. Workaround: go back to the main menu and reopen your world.
Write in the comments if you find any other issues, I will try to help you.
Notes and future plans:
This is my first game written in C with no game engine. My main mistake during development was that I did not split the project up into several files, which made the code quite hard to navigate. At the beginning of development, I did not know how to split it up, and by the time I learned about it it was far too late. If I decide to continue development, I will first focus on fixing this, then will likely release the source code, and then continue adding new elements and content. I am quite tired of Unity, so development on We March is unlikely to resume soon; I might port it to Godot some day, because I still like the game's concept, but I am not sure of that.
