With soaring trade demands, our investment in the Port of Ndayane will boost container capacity by 50%, establishing Senegal as a leading trade hub in West Africa. This USD$1 billion project introduces an initial capacity of 1.2 million TEUs, supported by an 840-meter quay and a 5-km channel. Beyond providing a sustainable solution for Senegal’s trade needs, the port will create 2.3 million direct and indirect jobs nationwide, including over 1,800 jobs during construction. We will soon begin maritime work, including dredging the shipping channel, marking a major milestone in preparing the port to enhance Senegal’s trade capabilities and streamline regional logistics.
