Toys
The Transformers
- Accessories: Jet pod, 2 small lasers, 2 large lasers, dual laser, 2 ramps
- Released in the sixth year of Hasbro's US Transformers toyline (fifth year in European markets), the unnamed "interstellar shuttle" is a large space cruiser with a detachable piggybacked "jet pod". Both the shuttle and pod have compartments to seat a Micromaster pilot. The whole shebang unfolds into a large Micromaster base. Modular ramps allow the base mode to connect to other Micromaster bases and vehicles. Aside from becoming the base's recon tower, the jet pod can dock with the white landing pad on the side of the base.
- The main shuttle can often be found missing its right wing, as one of the wing's connectors is mismolded slightly and tends to break. This may have been corrected by the end of the run.
- The instruction sheet suggests that in shuttle mode the large lasers be mounted on the nose, but they are molded to fit a slot on the wings.
- The set includes the Micromaster pilot Skystalker.
- In Japan, the "Thunder Arrow" was only available as a mail-away exclusive in the Zone portion of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline (despite its media role being in the previous year's Victory anime). It cost 4 Robot Points and 3000 yen, and your order neeeded to have been postmarked by March 31, 1991. Like many mail-away toys in the original Takara line, it was delivered in the Hasbro-release English-language box, with some Japanese-language stickers attached for legal information. And no, you're not getting Deathsuarus to fit in there by any means.
Notes
