Alternate BT World Timeline?
Wasn't sure where to put this: is there a reason why some Story of Binaltech fiction sections are sub-divided as "Alternate BT World timeline" after Chapter 14 or so? I understand that the BT timeline and regular timeline split at that point, but the 19 chapters form a straight narrative otherwise. I mention this because the sub-division titles get really small and awkward-looking by that point, and I'd prefer to leave them out if possible. --Xaaron 13:08, 2 March 2010 (EST)
- A product of my whims, I'm afraid. Essentially, if you read the section through until the "Alternate timeline" break, you can then skip over the "Alternate timeline" subsection (as well as the "Alternity" subsection, which also goes there in some articles) and pick up at the next header of the same size and still be following a chronological timeline. The subsection is to indicate where a story branches off - compare it, for example, with the way "Another Time and Place", "Earthforce" and "Marvel UK future timelines" get smaller, intended header sections in G1 comics sections, before G2, identifying them as branches off the above section that do no apply to the following one. - Chris McFeely 13:17, 2 March 2010 (EST)
- But...Earthforce, ATaP and MUKft are independently-exclusive branches splitting off from G1. Multiple headers for multiple paths. Story of Binaltech Chapter 1-14 only continues into Chapter 15-19. The story chronology doesn't split there (like the difference between G2 and Classics), just the timeline (like the end of Time Wars). There is the "BT World" and the "Non-BT World", which I understand is just the regular Japanese Cartoon Continuity. Even so, while we know that Chapters 15-19 don't take place in the "Non-BT World", we DON'T know how much of Chapters 1-14 was erased as well, right? Certainly, many events from Chapter 8 onwards, involving Ravage's machinations were undone, maybe making that a better spot to sever the timeline sub-divisions, but even that isn't clearly the ONLY thing changed by Distant Thunder.
- Instead of a new sub-division, might it just be easier to include a note between Chapters 14-15 in the fiction chronologies, stating something like At this point, the original timeline was retroactively restored by the Alternity and Operation: Distant Thunder, while the BT Saga continued as a separate and distinct timeline.

- You are, of course, absolutely correct about the events of chapters 1-14 - it's a point I've made myself in the past and took care to draw attention to when I was writing up the story chapter articles. That note is indeed probably a better way of doing it. - Chris McFeely 14:04, 2 March 2010 (EST)
