Smart Trainer
From Transformers Wiki
The Smart Trainer is a small flying drone intended for training purposes created by Nightshade. A hovering ball that speaks with the voice of their teacher, Bumblebee, the Smart Trainer has both a defensive mode and an offensive mode, as well as a smart alec personality. Though it has taken over five thousand attempts, Nightshade should manage to perfect the device any day now.

An explosion heralded the completion of the Smart Trainer 5007, bringing the rest of the Malto family running down to the Dugout. Nightshade took the opportunity to reveal the Smart Trainer 5007, however as they threw stones to demonstrate the device's defensive mode, it switched to offensive mode and started shooting lasers everywhere, forcing everyone to take cover. Bumblebee was able to subdue it with a blow, however the rest of the family turned down Nightshade's offer of helping them work on the Smart Trainer 5008. While Nightshade was befriending Tarantulas, Robby, Mo and the other Terrans set about repairing the Smart Trainer 5007 so Nightshade would have time to play with them, though their attempts just broke it more. Nightshade returned to find them still working on the device, and gratefully claimed it back to offer to Tarantulas in exchange for helping the Decepticon work on his holographic projector. They cannibalized parts from the Smart Trainer 5007 for the projector's construction. Missed Connection
Nightshade later finished the Smart Trainer 5008. Assigned the task of infiltrating G.H.O.S.T. HQ, Bumblebee borrowed both that and the mobile hologram emitter from Nightshade. On finding a corridor with laser tripwires down its length, Bumblebee had the Smart Trainer 5008 head to the other end, though it suggested it would be a better training exercise for Bumblebee to do it himself. The Smart Trainer then deactivated the lasers by smashing itself into the control panel, which unfortunately damaged the device and left Bumblebee unable to open the door at the end. He managed to rewire the door and left the malfunctioning Smart Trainer 5008 behind, where it was later found by Nightshade and the other Malto family members who were tailing him.
