Jump to: navigation, search
The name or term "Siren" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Siren (disambiguation).
Sireen is an Autobot Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Sireen (サイレーン Sairēn) serves the interesting dual functions of medic and strategist. He is outfitted with an overhead storage rack for miscellaneous medical equipment (which looks suspiciously like a pair of guns). Sireen is reportedly a longtime friend of the Autobot Micromasters' other strategist, D-Go of the Liner Team.

Sireen attempts to take cover behind the text.

Sireen was the only member of the Turbo Team who was not originally infected by the Decepticons' mind changer virus. He and Joe developed an antivirus program to return the other Turbo Team members to normal. In order to get the program into their systems simultaneously, Sireen surrendered to the others and convinced them to combine into Sixturbo, activating the program just as they combined. Sireen was briefly turned into a Decepticon himself just before the antivirus program took effect, turning all six components back into Autobots. Enter the Urban Disaster Relief Specialists!!

After this incident, Sireen modified this antivirus program to create the Vaccine Program Gun, which would theoretically do the opposite of the mind changer virus, turning Decepticons into Autobots. However, not only did the weapon fail to work as intended, but it had the unexpected effect of turning Sixwing into Berserker Sixwing. Enter the Decepticon Sixwing!!

When evil versions of the Build Team made their appearance, Sireen was the one to break the news to Mixing that his "clone" went by the name "Mixmaster" according to the humans who had witnessed their attack. Sixbuilder the Ill-Fated Warrior!?

Sireen observed a battle between Berserker Sixwing and Sixtrain. Sixtrain used his "Red Mode" to win the fight, and Sireen contemplated the power of the Matrix, a small fragment of it having granted Sixtrain his powerful new mode. He later went off to aid his fellow Micromasters in fighting off Sixwing when the Decepticon appeared once again to plunder the Autobots' excavation, which uncovered Cybertronian fragments within Mount Hillary... Sixtrain! Activate Red Mode!!

The Autobot Micromasters moved their base to better defend the ruins they had uncovered, but found their forces spread thin due to the Decepticons attacking both Mount St. Hillary and the humans. During a mission, Sireen and his squad encountered a dimensional rift. Sireen wondered if this space-time anomaly had any connection to the one that had evolved them in the past. Though he never did get an answer to his question, the rift provided the Autobots additional troops in the form of the Multiforce. The Menace of Landcross's Combining Formation!

Operation Combination

Years later, Sireen and the rest of the Six-team Micromasters joined Guard City and the Road Corps in defending Earth from the forces of the Decepticon High Regent Scrash. Operation Combination

None of the combiner team individuals ever actually show up as individuals, only as components of the combined robot modes.

Guns? No, these are just medical...launch...tubes.
  • Sixturbo (Micromaster Six-Team, 1992)
  • ID number: TF-03
Released in the Operation Combination portion of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline, Sireen was available only as part of a Sixturbo gift set in Japan. Aside from the ambulance mode, Sireen can form either leg of any of the similar-build Six-Teams (Sixturbo, Sixbuilder, or Sixwing). He can also theoretically form an arm, but he's incredibly awkward as such.
The toy's larger connector socket is approximately 5 mm wide, making him compatible with a lot of other toys and accessories.
He was only available as part of a complete Sixturbo gift set, packed with his teammates Circuit, Discharge, Glide, Neo-Wheel, and Road Police.
The original Six-Teams are considered among the more difficult Japanese Generation 1 pieces to find, due to their final-year release well after Transformers had faded from relevance in Japan, and thus command some hefty prices even with the molds' later re-releases.
This mold was also used to make Universe First Aid.

The thing on my chest? Oh no, it just fires, um...health capsules. Yyyeahh.
  • Sireen (Micromaster, 2002)
  • Sixturbo number: 6
  • Accessories: Sixturbo right foot
In 2002, the entire Sixturbo team was re-released in the second wave of The Transformers: Micromaster, in individual boxes with a number visible to show which mold was inside each box. For this release, all of the decals from the original version were removed, and mostly replaced with paint applications, including several new bits of deco. Sireen loses his more complicated printed grill and "AMBULANCE" deco (none of the Micromaster releases have more complicated tampograph printing) as well as the red cross (which is its own can of worms), but gains extra window paint, a long stripe on his ambulance sides, silver paint on his right pectoral, and an Autobot symbol on his passenger-side door. Also his face has changed from yellow to silver, sigh.
Be aware that Sireen has black thighs; if yours has gray thighs, you have Universe First Aid.
On top of this, two out of every twelve toys in the shipping/display case were all-black-plastic, nigh-unpainted "Reverse Evolution"-mode chase figures with white Decepticon sigils. Even the combiner kibble was cast in black, albeit a little more dark-gunmetal.

Notes

  • Sireen, like all of the six-team Micromasters, had no individual bio information whatsoever until his Micromaster release a decade after his original Operation Combination release.
  • His name utilizes Japanese wordplay that is difficult to convey in English. A "siren" (the noise-making device) is usually referred to as in Japanese as サイレン (sairen). Sireen's name is created by extending the vowel sound of the third kana, a common method of wordplay in Japanese.
  • His bio calls the things over his head "medical tools", but... look, he's got four blaster-looking things over his head. His entire right pectoral looks like a dual missile launcher and his head is framed by two things that also look like missile launchers. Each arm has what completely looks like a blaster tucked behind the vehicle-mode side panels. This guy was clearly designed to be packing major heat.
