Sandsting is a Decepticon Mini-Con from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Sandsting stings everything. He stings his enemies, he stings his masters, he would probably sting sand. The only thing sharper than his armor-piercing stinger is his tactical mind, making him an impossibly deadly adversary when he has a chance to plan an ambush.

Part of the second wave of Robots in Disguise single-pack Mini-Cons, Sandsting transforms from a robotic scorpion into a Cybertronian torpedo in a single step. As a torpedo-style Mini-Con, he can attach to and launch from the sidecar mechanism on Deployer Fracture. He comes with a number of clear plastic accessories attached to a Decepticon-insignia-shaped sprue, which can be attached using tabs and slots. Some of these parts can combine with those of his wavemates Beastbox, Ratbat, and Velocirazor to form an energy shark.

Unfortunately, due to the placement of his scan-badge under his tail, scanning him for the Robots in Disguise mobile game is rather difficult unless you peel off the sticker. Otherwise, you have to position juuuuuuuust right to get your tablet camera there. Alternatively, one can unclip the tail slightly so that there is better clearance. Don't worry as it can easily be reattached and detached as needed.

The TakaraTomy Adventure release of Sandstinger is a redeco of the Mini-con figure above, replacing the purple plastic with lilac, green plastic with dark grey, and casts his energon accessories in bright clear-green. Sandstinger also features a different scan-badge, which checks him off on the toy checklist in the Transformers Chronicle app.

For reasons that nobody can figure out, he was bundled with the "Micron Shooter" Fracture and Airazor in lieu of the infinitely more logical choice, Divebomb.

• Mini-Con Mega Pack (Multi-pack, 2016)

This massive fifteen-pack of Mini-Cons, released exclusively in some Asian and European markets, includes a marginally-changed and accessory-less Sandsting, adding a dab of silver paint to his stinger.

This set also includes Anvil, Back, Bashbreaker, Beastbox, Divebomb, Hammer, Lord Doomitron, Ratbat, Sawback, Swelter, Tricerashot, Undertone, Veliocirazor, and Windstrike, each with extremely minor added deco and none with armor sprues.
