Norio Wakamoto
From Transformers Wiki
Norio Wakamoto (若本 規夫 Wakamoto Norio born October 18, 1945) is a Japanese voice actor and former policeman. His imposing voice leads to him being typecast as villains, evidenced by his roles as Dracula in the Castlevania video games, Barbatos Goetia in several of the Tales series, Cell in Dragon Ball, Oskar von Reuenthal in Legend of the Galactic Heroes, M. Bison in Street Fighter, Father Alexander Anderson in Hellsing Ultimate, Xemnas in the Kingdom Hearts series, Gouki & Chu in Yu Yu Hakusho, Charles zi Britannia in Code Geass and Metal Face in Xenoblade Chronicles. Despite voicing mainly bad guys he has also done the voice for the strange cat-like creature Chiyo-chichi in Azumanga Daioh and his little guest role in Sailor Moon as Yusuke Amade.
In the world of dubbing he has done the voices for Raiden in Mortal Kombat, Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins, Shredder in the first live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, Mister Sinister in the TV Tokyo dub of Saban's X-Men, Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars trilogy as well the Narrator of The Clone Wars, Dusty in G.I. Notes
- In the Japanese dub of Animated, Megatron sometimes refers to Professor Sumdac as "Mr. Fuguta". This is a callback by Wakamoto to his role in the incredibly long-lived series Sazae-san as the character Mr. Anago, whose co-worker was a man named Masuo Fuguta. Running with the gag, Starscream even calls Megatron "Mr. Anago" in the Japanese dub of "TransWarped, Part 2".
- He also supplied voice clips for the Leader Class Animated Megatron figure.
- The character design of Chitter Click was inspired by Wakamoto's most famous role of Perfect Cell from the Dragon Ball series.
