Synopsis
Hot Shot and Wedge race along a mountain road towards a rescue, though Hot Shot thinks Wedge is too slow. They reach their target location and Hot Shot jumps the gorge their target bridge is spanning. Wedge hesitates, but on Hot Shot's urging, attempts the same jump and fails. Hot Shot completes the rescue just before the rest of the team arrives to congratulate him, and Wedge hauls himself out of the river.
Later in Bumblebee's vehicle maintenance class, Hot Shot tries to clarify his earlier joking was just harmless teasing, however Wedge is still disgruntled and ends up being so distracted he doesn't leave when class is done. The other recruits note that Wedge has been down lately, and nominate Hot Shot to help him work on his confidence. Hot Shot consults Bumblebee, who agrees with Hot Shot's idea that Wedge needs a speed coach, and nominates the recruit to do it. Wedge is lifting weights and not interested in the idea of Hot Shot tutoring him in speed at all, but Hot Shot manages to talk him into it.
The pair line up at the start of the race track and start off, however Wedge balks at the idea of traversing the track's loop, and when Hot Shot tries to get him to do donuts, fails at that too. When Bumblebee checks in later, he find Wedge sitting on the sidelines. Hot Shot again has Wedge attempt the loop, only for Wedge to fall off at the apex. The ensuing argument ends with Wedge storming off, and Bumblebee offers to teach Hot Shot some of his own speed stunts. This turns out to be Bumblebee demonstrating Hot Shot's own teaching style, which makes Hot Shot realize he's been doing it all wrong. Hot Shot has the other recruits help him upgrade the track to make a two-Bot stunt track and talks Wedge into giving it another go. With some positive input, Wedge manages to make the loop.
