Age of Extinction film
Several KSI Bosses were built by KSI, and were commandeered by Galvatron to capture the Seed in Hong Kong with the goal of cyberforming the Earth. In the battle that followed, Hound killed one of them with his grenade, whilst another KSI Boss was taken out by Bumblebee. Soon afterwards, another was set upon by Optimus Prime and the Dinobots, getting crushed by Scorn, and burned and bitten by Grimlock. The remaining KSI Bosses were killed when Optimus Prime set off Lockdown's grenade to destroy Galvatron's army. Age of Extinction

- Studio Series KSI Boss is a redeco of The Last Knight Decepticon Nitro, and transforms into a non-specific fighter jet. It features a removable head compatible with Deluxe-or-larger Titans Return molds, and its jet mode similarly features an opening cockpit that can seat a Titan Master. The KSI Boss's head does not need to be removed for transformation.
- The Boss's packaging art depicts him with Nitro's head; bizarrely, this art is a reworked version of Nitro's boxart...which had a KSI Boss head!
- This mold was also retooled into Studio Series Thundercracker.
Notes
- The design that would become the KSI Boss was originally created by film series concept artist Josh Nizzi in 2009, for a character design tutorial DVD. Concept art for the KSI Boss retains the arm-mounted whips from the tutorial robot, but these are not present on the final on-screen model.
- The KSI Boss model was modified to create Nitro Zeus for The Last Knight. While the finalized design for Nitro Zeus sports a modified Shockwave head, earlier concept art simply gave him an adjusted KSI Boss head, with a new central eye and different "ears". It was this early head design that the Nitro toy possessed, and which was retained for Studio Series KSI Boss.
- The designation "KSI Boss" was first mentioned in the robots' film concept art; they were eventually confirmed to be named as such by the Studio Series toy.
