Galvatronus (CW)
From Transformers Wiki
This article is about the Generation 1 Decepticon combiner. For the Robots in Disguise Decepticon combiner, see Galvatronus (RID). |
- Galvatronus is a Decepticon Combiner from the Combiner Wars portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Cyclonus uses his mind-control powers to enthrall Autobots and Decepticons alike, forcing them to combine with him into the mighty Galvatronus! Viper serves as this behemoth's weapon, though it's unclear if he too is an unwilling participant in this unholy union.
Sometimes.
In other circumstances Cyclonus has not been involved at all, and Galvatronus has been formed by Galvatron himself, wielding the power of the Enigma of Combination to merge five of his soldiers into the mighty Combiner.

Toys
Combiner Wars
- Skydive (Deluxe Class, 2014)
- Air Raid (Deluxe Class, 2015)
- Cyclonus (Voyager Class, 2015)
- Decepticon Dragstrip (Deluxe Class, 2014)
- Breakdown (Deluxe Class, 2015)
- Decepticon Viper (Legends Class, 2015)
- Accessories: Rifle (formed from Viper and Cyclonus's gun and shield), four small weapons, four hands/feet
- Known designers: John Warden (Hasbro), Marcelo Matere (packaging artist)
- Per Cyclonus's packaging bio, Galvatronus can be formed by connecting any four Combiner Wars Deluxe Class figures to Cyclonus, although his packaging gives a specific configuration of Air Raid and Skydive as left and right arms, and Breakdown and Dragstrip as left and right legs.
- Galvatronus wields a large gun formed by combining Cyclonus's gun and shield, which can be further expanded by attaching Legends Class Viper (or his mold-mate Powerglide) in his weapon mode. Galvatronus's torso was redecoed to be Unite Warriors Grand Galvatron's torso, although that combiner has a specific set of components.
Notes
- Since Galvatronus is formed with Dreadwing as his torso in IDW Publishing's The Transformers vol. 2 comic series, artist Andrew Griffith gave the combined form a head resembling Dreadwing's original combining partner Smokescreen and Dreadwing's chest rather than resembling Galvatron as in the toyline.
- The 2015 Fan Built Combiner poll which produced Victorion for Combiner Wars selected Galvatronus as Victorion's rival. This would not appear until after the fact in 2016, and in said IDW comic storyline, none of Galvatronus's constituents have Combiner Wars toys.
- Galvatronus in Earth Wars was originally intended to have Breakdown and Dragstrip as legs, intending to make a hybrid of his IDW and Combiner Wars formations. However, to not reuse limbs already part of another combiner (Menasor), the two were replaced with Astrotrain and Blitzwing.[1]
- Like most Earth Wars models, Galvatronus and his components are patterned after specific toys: Titans Return Mindwipe, Blitzwing, and Astrotrain; Siege Acid Storm, and Combiner Wars Cyclonus. Of these five, only Cyclonus's toy is actually a combiner component.
