Four Oni

The Four Oni are a Predacon subgroup from the Go! portion of the Aligned continuity family.

The Four Oni (四鬼衆 Shikishū) are a group of four Predacons, under the command of Budora and ultimately serving Dragotron. They, in turn, are served by the five Jaki who the Four Oni can summon at will from ordinary objects.

The Four Oni were buried around Mount Fuji, the volcano where Dragotron himself was buried. When Dragotron was awoken, he summoned the Four Oni to activate. Immediately, they split into two groups and sought out the Legendiscs. The red Legendisc was found by Gaidora and Budora at Sekishūsai Tatewaki's kendo dojo. Thanks to the sudden appearance of the Swordbot Samurai Team, they failed to obtain the Legendisc. Triple Combination! Swordbot - Samurai! The other duo, Bakudora and Judora, attempted to take the azure Legendisc from the statues atop Nagoya Castle, but they were stopped by the efforts of Tobio Fūma and the Swordbot Shinobi Team. Triple Combination! Swordbot - Ninja!

The Four Oni eventually recovered Dragotron's body from Mt. Fuji and a team of Budora and Bakudora used his blue Legendisc to travel to the past. There, they took the green Legendisc from Musashi Miyamoto, who believed they were really oni. Their attempt to change history using the Legendisc was stopped short by the Samurai Team, who followed them from the future. Pursue! The Legendiscs! Judora and Gaidora likewise traveled to the past in an attempt to retrieve the yellow Legendisc from Kotarō Fūma, but were foiled by Tobio and the Shinobi team. Discover! The Legendiscs! Budora and Bakudora made a second attempt to retrieve the green Legendisc, this time from Ryōma Sakamoto, which also failed. The Invincible Swordsman - Ryōma Sakamoto!? During the attempt by Judora and Gaidora to take the disc from Musashibō Benkei, Gaidora absorbed the power of the Jaki and grew to immense size, but even this failed to score them the disc.

Finally, Dragotron himself awoke. Showdown! Musashibō Benkei! Enter! The New Warrior! The Oni tried a new approach, tracking down Tobio, Isami and their respective teams after they returned from the past with the Legendiscs. Though Optimus Exprime arrived to aid the Autobots, Depart! Optimus Exprime! Enter! The New Warrior! the Oni were able to abduct Isami and Tobio, along with the Legendiscs they carried. During the final battle at Mount Fuji, Dragotron summoned the Four Oni, and to their surprise absorbed them to add their power to his own. This still wasn't enough to prevent Dragotron's eventual defeat and reimprisonment. Final Battle! Link-Up Triple Combination DaiGekisou! Final Battle! Link-Up Triple Combination DaiKenzan!

The Samurai and Shinobi Go! series have near-identical finales, with differences such as which Swordbot team Dragotron initially attacks and which boy he's shown abducting. A generalized retelling of events is presented here for simplicity's sake.

Gaidora
The Four Oni toys are retools and redecos of Predacon toys from the Beast Hunters line — Ripclaw, Grimwing, Lazerback, and Skystalker respectively. Each toy gets a new head with a demonic face befitting the character, and in Budora's case he got a new beast mode head as well.
