Elder God

That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.

The Elder Gods are a race of cold, alien, and evil intelligences that exist in the non-spacetime of swirling anti-matter "outside" our universe. Possibly dwarfing even Unicron in terms of power, their limitless abilities are checked only by their inscrutable motivations and indifference to the affairs of lesser egregores that grow in the warm and wet hothouse of time and space we so arrogantly call "reality".

Ramjet was cast adrift between dimensions when Unicron's form imploded into a black hole. He found himself in the realm of the "ancient gods" who repeatedly destroyed and re-created his body from the inside out while toying with his spark. Bored, they cast him back into the universe he had come from. Ramjet's profile in Club magazine #5 Ramjet then sought out his fellow herald Nemesis Prime and journeyed to the dimension in which Unicron was trapped. Balancing Act

As a result of his encounter with the ancient gods, Ramjet's body was now composed of antimatter held together by the force of his will, he had a permanent connection to non-space, and his body occasionally manifested little... tentacle-things.

Hearts of Steel

Despite being trapped in their dimensional prison, the Elder Gods had the power to reach out to sensitive beings. Among them was Howard Lovecraft, who channeled the Elder Gods' call into horror prose. Although the clandestine organization Oblivion succeeded at killing Lovecraft before his art could threaten to allow the Elder Gods into the universe, his stories spread into popular culture. This collective imagination, with the help of Artillica, let loose the Elder Gods. Free and unencumbered, they rampaged across the multiverse. Infestation 2 #1

One of the universes in which the Elder Gods arose was one where the Transformers awoke in the 19th century. Through one's fish people servants, they took control of a populace of humans in Port Cenotaph and a band of Decepticons. Ironhide ran into the god's servants and, realizing the forces at work here, warned the other Autobots. However, he was pulled into the Elder God's thrall. In response to Ironhide's warning, the Autobots sought out their leader, Optimus Prime. Infestation 2: The Transformers #1 The possessed populace united in a summoning call that brought the Elder God out of the depths of the ocean. Indeed, it had not seen the surface of the Earth since the Sun was young.

The spate of disappearing ships in the region prompted an international fleet to assemble and investigate. At the town, they battled the God's Decepticon servants, but found themselves helpless against the Elder God himself. Fortunately for all else involved, Optimus Prime attacked the Elder God so severely that it sank back to the abyss from whence it came, taking its fish people servants with it and releasing its hold on the minds of the humans and Transformers. Optimus Prime could not be certain it was dead, but promised to protect against it should it ever rise again. Infestation 2: The Transformers #2

CVO was able to end the Elder Gods' threat by using Artillica and the Relic to seal the tear in their reality. Infestation 2 #2 The eldritch horror did not resurface in the decades following in the Transformers' universe, as Optimus Prime recounted this encounter as the last time he or his Autobots faced the Elder God.
