Dogfight (RID)
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Dogfight" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Dogfight (disambiguation). |
- Dogfight is an Autobot from the Adventure portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Far from a model Autobot, Dogfight (ドッグファイト Doggufaito) is a nasty and violent street fighter with a burning hatred for Decepticons, and all attempts by Optimus Prime to quell his anger with counseling and meditation sessions have failed. His only friend in the Autobot ranks is Override, though the two also consider themselves rivals.
Dogfight's body is filled to the brim with weapons, from guided missile launchers in his arms to sharpened wings that can cut through any known metal, and he can even transform into a giant fusion blaster equipped with hi-tech aiming systems that distinguish friends from foes and ensure absolute accuracy. Even with this firepower at his disposal, he's careful not to fire until the enemy is close enough that he can see the rivets on their bodies. Dogfight's preferred strategies are dancing a chaotic "dance of death" with Decepticons and then ramming them in jet mode in the confusion, and transforming into robot mode in mid-air and dropping onto his foes from above.

Adventure comic
Dogfight accompanied Override and Ricochet on a mission to rescue Ultra Magnus from captivity at the hands of Lockdown, defeating Runabout, Runamuck and his Insecticons along the way. After dispatching Lockdown by having Ricochet blast him with his fusion blaster mode, Dogfight displayed his irreverence by telling the higher ranked Magnus to clean up their mess. Return! Adventure
- Dogfight VS Decepticon Runamuck (Multi-pack, 2016)
- ID number: TAVSP
- Adventure Dogfight is a redeco of Combiner Wars Viper, itself a retool of Combiner Wars Powerglide, transforming into a modified-for-legal-reasons approximation of an A-10 Thunderbolt II assault plane with a color scheme based on Generation 1 Dogfight. He can also transform into a multi-barreled cannon that can be held by larger toys via 5 mm post, though his weight makes it difficult for many toys to hold him in a firing position for very long, if at all.
- Unlike Combiner Wars Powerglide's Japanese counterpart, Adventure Powerglide, Dogfight does not feature a circular indentation on his chest; instead, his scannable Autobot insignia is simply placed on the regular chest, thus making for a less obvious gap if one were to remove the insignia sticker.
- Dogfight was only available as a Transformers Generations 2015 mail-in exclusive in a two-pack with Runamuck.
