Dig Fest is a yearly event that takes place in a huge arena in the desert outside of Milford. It invariably involves heavy machinery, including everything from construction vehicle spectacles to robot battles. They are surprisingly open to random members of the public joining the show without prior notice.

The recruits watched a commercial for Dig Fest on television. During their later mission to the desert to locate a downed Cybertronian satellite, they spotted the Dig Fest arena in the distance and investigated. Hiding backstage, they realized that one of the diggers in the dancing event that was taking place had gone rogue, forcing Wedge to head into the arena and stop it. The Dig Fest MC invited Wedge to join the next event, a freestyle stunt competition. Though he wiped out during the event, Wedge rejoined the other recruits to reveal that he'd done so intentionally in order to recover the piece of satellite that had ended up in the middle of the arena. The following year, Dig Fest was back with a one-day-only event, Bot Battle, which involved repurposed robots fighting. Tough Luck Chuck, misinterpreting something Hot Shot had said, used the GroundBridge to head to the arena and join the contest, forcing Hot Shot to likewise enter in an attempt to rescue him. Despite facing Fun Droid 3, Vaccumbot and The Eviscerator, Chuck won Bot Battle. He returned to the Academy with Hot Shot and the winner's trophy. Bot Battle
