- Codexa is a Transformer from the 2019 IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Bonded to Cybertron itself, the Cybertronian known as Codexa is a wise sage, and a frequent advisor to Orion Pax when the Senator needs an ear. However, her long hibernation, combined with her decrepit physical form, has rendered her more than a little scatterbrained, prone to muddling details and forgetting the identities of her visitors.

During the Age of Expansion, Codexa became head archivist of Cybertron. As the Titans frontlined Cybertron's colonial era, Codexa witnessed many of their feats, but took an increasingly dim view of how the Cybertronian race had encroached on other populated worlds in its never-ending quest for new sources of energy. The Change In Your Nature Part Five Codexa became the mentor to a young archivist named Orion Pax, and encouraged his development. While other Transformers who had lived through the Expansion yearned for a return to the days of conquest and colonization, Codexa took a dim view of the past and published The Way We Were, by One Who Saw It, which argued that the Nominus Edict that had permanently curtailed Cybertron's expansionism would prove a net positive for the universe. At one point, Codexa sent Orion Pax to observe the opening of the great Winged Moon before the politicians arrived, and encouraged him to go further out and visit the colonies to expand his horizons. Orion Pax: Free Fall Four kilocycles later, He returned to Cybertron with stories of his travels. Codexa had once intended Orion to succeed her as head archivist, but she had long suspected he would serve in other ways. After his exploration, Orion Pax confirmed he now realized he felt the same way. Proxima would replace Codexa as head archivist, while Orion Pax would follow his old friend Megatron into the Senate, perhaps serving as a bridge between the Autobots and Megatron's new party, the Ascenticons. Meanwhile, Codexa planned to go immersant upon her retirement, sublimating into the very nature of Cybertron itself. End of Time
By the present day, Codexa had indeed retired, retreating to a secluded chamber beyond the outskirts of Iacon. While conflicted over the rise of Megatron and his Ascenticons, Orion sought out Codexa for advice, The World In Your Eyes Part Three though as he reminisced on his history with the Ascenticon leader he revealed that he had actually come to her to seek validation for his next move—a move that might send him down the path of no return. When the Sea of Rust began to collapse, Codexa felt the planet-wide tremor, fearing what would become of Cybertron. Enigmatic
In the aftermath of the battle, Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus went to visit Codexa, though Optimus was unsure if the voice was truly just his mentor's anymore, who managed to impart on the two that Exarchon had returned and claimed Ruckus as a new body. Darkness, Once Gazed Upon: Part One
