Buzzsaw was sent out by Soundwave to find out more about Autobot-related activity at Kingdom Petrochemicals. After ascertaining that humans who were unrelated to NEST were involved and that they were an unknown quantity, Buzzsaw was dispatched with Soundwave's other minions to neutralize this new human threat, leaving one alive for interrogation. The operation was not a success, with Buzzsaw being wounded, and Soundwave was forced to pull out his forces. Buzzsaw remained behind to tend to Ravage. Nefarious #1 He got Ravage operational, and the pair burst out of the ruins of the plant, surprising an NSA team who were investigating the area. Soundwave ordered Buzzsaw to Wendover, Utah, where he joined Brakedown, Dirt Boss and Reverb in investigating a location retrieved from Ravage's memory. Soundwave kept in touch with the team through Buzzsaw, and warned them to evacuate when they found a flashing red light. Nefarious #2

As a captured Soundwave was being transported on a military plane, Buzzsaw shot it down over New Mexico and joined Rumble, Dirt Boss, Beastbox and Ratbat in freeing Soundwave from a Bumblebee-led Autobot force. Buzzsaw battled Knock Out with Ratbat, until Bumblebee, seeing his team being overwhelmed, pulled out and allowed the Decepticons to retrieve Soundwave. Nefarious #3 After Soundwave successfully tracked Ravage to the Initiative base, Buzzsaw took part in an unsuccessful attack on it. He and Ratbat were blasted by the base's defense systems. Nefarious #4 Soundwave teamed up with the Autobots and was accompanied by Buzzsaw as they mounted a combined attack on the Initiative base. Nefarious #5 In his helicopter alternate mode, Buzzsaw pursued Carter Newell who possessed a rebuilt AllSpark, intended to destroy all Transformer life on Earth. When Newell was about to kill Optimus Prime, Buzzsaw blew a hole in the man, killing him. Nefarious #6 Some time later, Buzzsaw was among Soundwave's troops as he did battle with Arcee and Chromia. Seeing as only Soundwave and the two female Autobots survived an explosion triggered by Chromia, it is possible that the bird-bot was killed in the blast. Rising Storm #4

When Soundwave realized that the key to the Autobots' victories was their friendship with the humans, he dispatched Buzzsaw and Ratbat to Earth. As the pair tore up a human city, Soundwave intercepted the radio signals sent by the police to the Autobots, causing the humans to believe that the Autobots had abandoned them. Eventually, the Autobots wised up to Soundwave's scheme, and they arrived in the city to combat the two Decepticons. Grabbing Ratbat, Optimus Prime threw the bat into Buzzsaw, and, defeated, the two quickly fled. Satellite Meltdown

  • Booster X10 (Real Gear Robots, 2007)
  • Takara ID number: MD-12
  • Accessories: Earpiece/cannon
Buzzsaw was repurposed from Booster X10 in the IDW movie comics.
Part of the second wave of Transformers Real Gear Robots, Booster X10 transforms from a (non-functional) MP3 player vaguely resembling an iPod Nano into a robotic bird. He comes with a wireless earphone/microphone (which is surprisingly comfortable) that becomes a back-mounted cannon for his bird-bot mode.
This mold was also used to make Night Beat 7.
