Renegade Rhetoric

Blaster, Tail Pipe, and Leader-1 were in a Command Center chasing the Renegades chasing the Monster GoBot Creepy when they were overcome by powerful aliens called the Overseers. Using a matter superposition ray, the Overseers transported the GoBots to the other side of the galaxy to act as their slaves. They were fitted with restraining chains that disabled their power packs while also inexplicably altering their color schemes. Blaster was put to work with Creepy and Cy-Kill in the engine rooms until Leader-1 and BuggyMan orchestrated an escape. The GoBots came together to disable the Overseers, and were transported back to their original coordinates. Chains of Doom

Echoes and Fragments

As Sideways and Gong played with reality, elements of the GoBots and Transformers mingled together. Following the Battle of Autobot/Guardian City, Blaster mixed his role with his Autobot namesake. He picked up a distress signal from Moonbase One, and converted into his tank mode to improve the faint signal's strength. As Major Mo rallied the troops to deal with the new menace reported by Turbo, he reported that Blaster would stay behind with UNECOM forces. Echoes and Fragments

Go-Bots comic

Blaster was one of the renegade Go-Bots that flocked to Cy-Kill in the desert near Route 66, helping surround and subdue the US government Go-Bot Leader-1 and retrieve military secrets from his brain. Go-Bots #1 He then lined up alongside Leader-1 to face down Cy-Kill's army. Go-Bots #2 He stayed in Leader-1's service over the eons, serving as one of the guards on the Command Center. Along with Heat Seeker, he was given the task of escorting Spay-C to and from the brig, later scuffling with the new arrival when he attempted to escape before being spared by Leader-1. Go-Bots #3 Blaster was part of Leader-1's retinue during the search for the Lazer Lance and the Go-Bot god Courageous, donning one of the suits of armor the latter separated into for the final confrontation with Zod. He was later one of the Guardians hit by the Command Center's weaponry after Cy-Kill seized control of the ship. Go-Bots #4 He survived to see the end of the Go-Bot civil war and the following era of peace. Go-Bots #5

Notes

  • Blaster's failure to keep Cy-Kill incarcerated is lifted from the Challenge of the Gobots five-parter, "The GoBotron Saga".
  • Blaster's appearance in Go-Bots #1 uses the character's original orange color scheme, while later appearances use the second green deco. Whether this indicates they are separate characters or if this was an error is unclear.
  • Blaster's Cybertronian-style body in the "Cataclysm universe" is modeled on Wreckage from the Armada toyline.
  • Frank Welker voiced Blaster in the Challenge of the GoBots.
