Allicon
From Transformers Wiki
This article is about the Quintesson guards. For the drone built from pieces of Optimus Prime, see Alligaticon. |
Allicons are another breed of the Quintessons' enforcer units, often used as guards for more important members of the race. They are slightly smarter than the Sharkticons, even capable of speech, but free will has been pretty thoroughly removed from their programming, to the point where they will malfunction if resisting a direct order.
They transform into bipedal, vaguely crocodilian creatures.

A group of Allicons intercepted Kup and Hot Rod when the two Autobots were lost on Quintessa. Kup used the universal greeting and offered them energon goodies, which made the Allicons friendly... until the goodies ran out. Oops. The Allicons subdued the two Autobots and took them to the Quintessons' court chambers, tossing them into the cell next to Kranix, muttering the Universal Greeting as they did. Some Allicons guarded Ultra Magnus, Kup and Spike to their trial after they were captured by the Quintessons during the Galactic Olympics. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1
A single Allicon later served as the guard for a Quintesson scientist who kidnapped Ultra Magnus, Cyclonus, Marissa Faireborn and Wreck-Gar in an attempt to find weaknesses in each prisoner's group. The ship got caught in an electron storm, and the Allicon steered the ship in the wrong direction attempting to pull free, which earned a slap from the scientist before it corrected and changed course. When the captives escaped, it dueled Wreck-Gar with a spear until the Quintesson's ship started being dragged into a black hole. The Allicon set the ship in reverse thrust to try and resist the gravity well, and activated a distress beacon in hopes that a passing ship might rescue them before the ship's thrusters lost power. When the Quintesson tried to flee in the only escape pod, the Allicon alerted them to the attempt and ran to the escape pod as well, but then froze up when the scientist ordered it to stop. That lockup cleared up as soon as Marissa ran for the pod, and the guard pulled her from Magnus's hands, which resulted in the pod launching with no-one inside. When the ship eventually fell into the black hole, they found themselves in a "negative universe", and the Allicon donated some of its parts to repair the engines and rocket back to their home universe through the "white hole". Finding thmselves in the middle of a stalemated skirmish between their various factions who had come to rescue them, the group agreed to simply part ways without further fighting, and the Allicon and its master went off on their own. When Quintessa was threatened with destruction by the growing force of the time storm, the Quintessons activated the Trawler Project to find a new suitable homeworld to relocate to, by force if necessary. Allicon agents were sent out to many worlds to determine their suitability for colonization. But a freak cosmic storm diverted the message canister containing the results to the planet of Junk, where it was recovered by Wreck-Gar and the Junkions. Wreck-Gar was interrogated by the Quintessons, but provided no useful information. An Allicon led Wreck-Gar to his execution at the Sharkticon pits, but was overpowered by the Junkion and tossed into the pit himself. Wreck-Gar fought past a number of other Allicons before making his escape.
In the meantime, General Ghyrik led a fleet of Allicons and Quintessons to Earth for Plan B: the taking of Autobot City!
Ghyrik and the Allicons breached the outer walls using Trident attack crafts, and a commando raid secured the city itself in a matter of minutes. An Allicon soon informed Ghyrik that Phase 2 was underway: the conquest of Cybertron. Other Allicons continued the pursuit of Wreck-Gar away from Quintessa, but he evaded them. Allicon shock troopers simultaneously ambushed the Decepticon forces on Cybertron and stole the Creation Matrix from Rodimus Prime when he arrived at Autobot City. They pursued the now reduced Hot Rod and Arcee while working to crush the Autobot reinforcements at the city. Hot Rod managed to turn the tide by releasing Blaster's Mini-Cassettes and reactivating Metroplex from deep within Autobot City's core. Meanwhile, the Decepticons on Cybertron received a helping hand from Ultra Magnus and the Autobots. Magnus saved Soundwave's life when an Allicon nearly shot him in the back, and the battle turned against the Quintesson forces on both planets. Metroplex swatted the Allicons like flies, and the united Cybertronians drove off the other Quintesson invaders from their homeworld. Space Pirates!

Allicon troopers were involved in the invasion of Cybertron by the Quintessons set shortly after the techno-organic wave reformatted the planet's surface. It had all been part of a plot by the Quintessons through the Oracle, their private interface to the supercomputer, Vector Sigma. Little did they know that Primus had manipulated their plans to his own ends, advancing the evolution of his people. The Allicon troopers got more than they bargained for as the mechanical, bio-mechanical, and techno-organic denizens of Cybertron devastated the Quintesson invaders and secured their homeland for future generations. The Quintessons were one of the few unforeseen dangers ahead of the Autobots and Decepticons in their race for the AllSpark. The Allicons' function was the Quintesson Guard. Their primary objective was to punish the judged, and their primary weapons were their giant jaws. The Allicons themselves were also one of the Quintesson Judge's primary weapons. Toys
War for Cybertron: Earthrise
- Quintesson Allicon (Deluxe Class, 2020)
- Hasbro ID Number: WFC-E19
- TakaraTomy ID number: ER EX-07
- TakaraTomy release date: August 29, 2020
- Accessories: Spear, blade
- Released in the second wave of the Earthrise Deluxe Class lineup, this "Quintesson Allicon" converts into a humanoid crocodilian beast mode in 14 steps. He has two different weapons: a spear modeled after the one used in "The Killing Jar" that can also tab onto his back for storage, and a curved blade made from the inner part of his tail.
- In robot mode, this figure is relatively short for a Deluxe Class toy, but is very solidly built with only the backs of his legs being hollow. Those hollow areas allow the Allicon to compress his legs a decent amount, allowing him to assume a more hunched stance when transformed. On that note, he features an autotransformation gimmick: when transforming from alligator mode to robot mode, folding his alligator head and tail back will automatically cause his robot mode head to rise up into position. However, when converting from robot mode to alligator mode, his robot mode head must be pushed down into its storage position manually.
- The CG render of the beast mode is slightly mistransformed: the robot mode arms are not pegged into the figure's torso, which, in turn, tilts the beast mode arms outward. Initial stock photos provided by TakaraTomy depicted the figure being partially cast with pink and light violet parts instead of shades of gray, but subsequent stock photos showed the figure in colors nearly identical to the ones seen in the render, with the only differences being the gray parts of the shins and the backplate being blue while the blue parts of the beast mode head and its teeth are tan instead. The final figure's color scheme is almost identical to the stock render, but with sand-colored teeth. Inexplicably, the render on the back of the box has been recolored to match the original TakaraTomy stock photos.
- Like most Earthrise toys, the inside of the back of the Allicon's package includes an exclusive clip-and-save piece of a larger star map, along with a translucent red "decoder". The Allicon's piece contains the labeled location of GIGANTION. Like most Earthrise figures from Wave 2, however, it is misprinted, and overlays the "decodable" red graphics from the map piece included with Earthrise Hoist on top of the details unique to the Allicon's piece.
- In Japan, the Quintesson Allicon was released as a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive. This mold was retooled to make the War for Cybertron Trilogy Quintesson Bailiff.
Buzzworthy Bumblebee
- Troop Builder Multipack (4-pack, 2023)
- Series: Legacy: Evolution
- Accessories: Axe, mace, tail-sword, Allicon head
- One of four figures in the Buzzworthy Bumblebee "Troop Builder Multipack", the Quintesson Trooper is a redeco of the War for Cybertron Trilogy Quintesson Bailiff in a more cartoon-accurate color scheme, retaining that figure's accessories. Additionally, the Trooper also includes a copy of the Earthrise Allicon's head, with additional paint compared to the original release. While the multipack's packaging and instructions suggest optionally swapping this head onto the Quintesson Trooper to create a sort of Bailiff/Allicon hybrid, a savvy purchaser can instead substitute it onto an original Earthrise Allicon toy to give it a more cartoon-accurate head... if they don't mind the plastic colors not matching. Due to sitting up higher than the Allicon release of the mold, you should turn the Allicon head so the fin rests in the gap of the chest when transforming to avoid the fin becoming bent.
- This is also the first ever Hasbro-initiated toy[2] to feature the Quintesson insignia (albeit very small). Nice!
- The Troop Builder Multipack also included a Decepticon Seeker, a G2 Universe Cybertronian Trooper, and an Animated Universe Autotrooper.
Notes
- The script for the movie originally called for the Allicons' scene to feature Sharkticons, but we got these critters instead. They were indeed Sharkticons in the first comic adaptation. Neither in this scene, nor in any of their reappearances during the series were they referred to by name—the script for "The Killing Jar" identified them only as "Quintesson Guards". Fans online had generally taken to calling them "Allicons", which was finally made canon in Dreamwave's 2004 More Than Meets The Eye series.
- Thanks to "The Killing Jar", an Allicon's beast mode was the first official use of the term "alternate mode".
