Definitely a different kind of job interview than that one with Bruce Brazos.

Agent Burke is a person full of secrets. If you're looking for a job and if you helped save the world, he might invite you to show you his collection of tanks.

Not long after the defeat of the Terrorcons in Peru, Noah Díaz attempted a job interview with Burke in what appeared to be a mundane warehouse office. Noah, expecting an interview for a common security job, was surprised to hear that Burke knew so many things about him, including every detail of Noah's recent encounter with the Transformers. As Noah was about to leave, Burke told him that his help could be useful for future conflicts and gave him his business card, which bore the logo of G.I. Joe on the reverse. To demonstrate good faith, he informed Noah that the organization was ready to cover all of his little brother Kris's healthcare needs going forward.

He then activated a secret door that opened onto a gigantic hangar filled with soldiers working on vehicles, including the Terrorcon landing craft. Rise of the Beasts

Notes

  • Burke's name is never spoken onscreen in his brief screentime, only being written on his business card and in the credits.
  • Director Steven Caple Jr. has stated that Burke's identity and role in G.I. Joe were left intentionally generic and that as of Rise of the Beasts' release, he's still deciding how he wants to further develop the character, noting that Burke might not even be his real name and he could turn out to be a legacy G.I. Joe character.[1] For context, no classic Joe or Cobra member carries the surname "Burke".
  • Michael Kelly wasn't cast as Burke until after principal photography on Rise of the Beasts was already complete, and was not told that he would be a member of G.I. Joe until he was already on set, for fear of the surprise leaking out.[1]
