Two demos of Paradise Blue, dated 9/13/2007 and 9/30/2007 respectively, are an early glimpse of the game, with many differences in all aspects.

Hmmm...
To do:
Elaborate on the minor differences between the two demos

General Differences

  • The title screen is noticeably different, using less colors, having more trees and a different font for the title itself with a noticeable aesthetic spiral.

Map Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Elaborate.
  • The intro is entirely different from final, taking place in a different location with very different dialog.

Crystal Cave

Demos Final

  • There are many graphical differences, with final being overall more detailed.
  • The lower portion of the area, normally accessible from the starting ladder, is inaccessible and contains no events.

Unused Maps

Hmmm...
To do:
Pictures.

Alternate Intro

  • A collection of maps under the subfolder 'True Intro' show another version of the intro, with characters discussing Paradise Blue as a game that is played. This somewhat odd sequence was overwritten in final with various unrelated maps, indicating this was a very early concept that was scrapped.

Interior Home

  • The home used for a sidequest in Marsall is inaccessible in the demo, although there are some unfinished maps in the files for it. The only events implemented are for warping, and the basement map doesn't exist at all at this point in time.

Santelha Castle Library

  • While Santelha Castle is completely inaccessible in the demos, an early version of the library is present with non-interactable NPCs. This rather large area was severely trimmed down for the final map.

Spire of the Spirits

  • The later demo includes 7 maps for Spire of the Spirits, interestingly labeled 'Final Dungeon'.
