This page details pre-release information and/or media for Kurohyou 2: Ryu ga Gotoku Ashura-hen.
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
This needs some investigation. Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page. |
Unlike Kurohyou: Ryu ga Gotoku Shinsho, very little is known about the development of Kurohyou 2: Ryu ga Gotoku Ashura-hen. The full extent of our knowledge is that at some point (probably very early) it was not much more than Kurohyou but with an additional map (Sotenbori).

First Trailer
Nothing of note here.
Second Trailer
Nothing of note here either.
Third Trailer
This trailer sports a great number of differences to the final game. Depicted in it is the oldest known build of Kurohyou 2.
- Multiple UI elements are still as they are in Kurohyou.
- Despite the trailer showing off the new mechanics for Kurohyou 2, the actual movements are still identical to Kurohyou.
- The bald thug is using Kurohyou's Wrestling.
- Boxing, the style Tatsuya is using here, has a spammable downed kick (unlike in the final game).
- Ryusho appears to be using Kudo, which is a Kurohyou style that was removed entirely from 2. Either that, or he is using a heavily altered version of his final moveset. (Kudo could be merely a placeholder anyway?)
- Tatsuya uses the deathblow Burning Straight (which isn't in 2) at the end.
- The screen flashes gray when Ryusho has his guard broken. In the final game, it only flashes gray when your guard is broken, not a partner's.
- Tatsuya himself looks quite different, more like his 1 self.
- At 0:59 he can be seen shoving an enemy. While this is a thing in the final Kurohyou 2, the animation is different - here he shoves them by the collar, while in the final game he uses their head.
Unknown Trailer
This trailer contains a few differences to the final game.
- Tatsuya's combat voicelines are higher-pitched.
- His dialogue to Ryo before the final boss fight is completely different.
