The Dark

In the dark you play as Walker, a former merc and cargo runner in The Kuiper Belt. You and your partner Tania joined the Kuiper Belt Search and Rescue team some time ago and are one of the best out there. The KBSR Team is responsible for not only helping and rescuing crews in the Kuiper Belt but also in the part of space past Pluto and the Kuiper Belt. A place known as The Dark. Mankind has just began to scratch the surface of the dark and the only people who go to The Dark are researchers, daredevils and criminals. Many are never heard from again.

You are awakened early in the morning after a night of partying after yet another successful mission. While you’re groggy and don’t really want to take it, your contact informs you that the ship that has gone missing is one of the most veteran research vessels in Earths fleet. The Icarus.

You’ve been hired by two Earth corporations to find the Icarus, make contact and then let them know. What mysteries will be presented to you when you find the Icarus? Is the crew still alive? What experiments were being done on the ship? Did they cause the disappearance?

The alpha build of the first chapter will take you all the way up to the Icarus. I have already scripted the second chapter as well. As the game is episodic and takes place in the far reaches of our solar system I don’t plan on having a “end game”. Long term I would like to keep the adventures coming in The Dark.

I plan on the game being safe for work so almost anybody that is interested in it can play it.

That’s pretty much all I have to say. Really, once released if you do play it and enjoy it at all, I would love to hear it. It will be released, I am hoping for mid-September. If you decide you’d rather hold out supporting the project until you know you’re getting a game, I totally understand and respect that.
