If your Pixel Buds have been Fast Paired with a compatible Android device, you can use that device to help find them if they’ve been misplaced.
How to find your Google Pixel Buds Pro | Google Pixel Buds Pro
Pixel Buds Pro 2
Before you get started
- Buds must be paired to a compatible device running Android 9 or newer with location enabled.
- Buds need to be added to the Find My Device app. You can do this when you pair your Pixel Buds for the first time or in your settings.
- You need to be the owner of your Pixel Buds Pro 2. If you purchased from a reseller or using previously owned Buds, you’ll need to take ownership of the device.
Connect your Pixel Buds to Find My Device
During set up
When you pair your Pixel Buds Pro 2 for the first time to your device, you can add your Buds to Google’s Find My Device network. Ensure that your location settings are enabled.
Set up from your Settings or Pixel Buds app
If you didn’t connect your Pixel Buds Pro 2 to the Find My Device app, you can turn it on from your settings or Pixel Buds app.
- On a Pixel phone with Android 10 : Go to Settings
Connected devices
by your paired Pixel Buds name.
- On other Android devices: Open the Google Pixel Buds app
- From Pixel Buds app: Open the Pixel Buds app
Find my earbuds or charging case
You can easily locate your earbuds and charging case using the Find My Device app.
If the earbuds are outside their charging case, you will also have the option to select the desired earbud or case that you want to find.
After selecting the piece, you can tap Play sound to trigger a loud chime that can help you easily find them.
You can also check the location of your case and earbuds on the map.
Receive unknown tracker alerts
If an unknown device, such as a pair of Pixel Buds Pro 2, is detected moving with you for an extended period, you may receive an unknown tracker alert. This will bring up options to ring, find, and disable the individual earbud or the charging case.

If you receive an unknown tracker alert about a Pixel Buds Pro 2 case,
Learn more about the device:
- Bring the case close to your Android or iPhone.
- Flip the case open to view more information on your phone's screen.
Disable tracking:
If you find a bud and a case from the unwanted tracking notification, place the bud back into the case and follow the next steps:
- Flip open the case.
- Press the button on the back of the case 5 times.
- The case LED will turn off, signifying it's shut down and no longer sharing its location.
- To confirm, flip open the case or press the back button. The LED should remain off.
Notes:
- Charging the case via a powered USB-C cable or capable wireless charger will turn it back on and resume location sharing.
- Disabling the device is only possible after receiving an unknown tracker alert.
If you receive an unknown tracker alert and located a Pixel Buds Pro 2 bud without a case:
To prevent the bud from sharing your location and to protect your privacy, please make sure the earbud is no longer with you.
Previous Pixel Buds series
If your Pixel Buds have been Fast Paired with a compatible Android 6.0 device, you can use that device to help find them if they’ve been misplaced.
- If your Pixel Buds are still connected to your device, you can ring them.
- If they’re not connected anymore, you can find their last known location.
Ring your Pixel Buds
If you’ve misplaced your Pixel Buds, but they are still connected to your device, you can make them easier to find by making them ring. This ringing will begin at a low volume, and become progressively louder over time.

Depending on your device, you can change the settings for your earbuds in different ways:
On a Pixel phone with Android 10 : Go to Settings
On other Android devices: Open the Google Pixel Buds app.
- Tap Find device.
- Tap Ring Left or Ring Right to start ringing either or both of your connected Pixel Buds. Earbuds must be nearby and connected to your phone to ring. The sound starts at zero volume and gradually increases over 20 seconds. Any gesture on the earbud will stop the sound immediately.
- Once you've found your Pixel Buds, you can silence them by doing any of the following:
- From the Find Device screen, tap Mute Left or Mute Right.
- Leave the Find Device screen or lock your phone.
- Insert the ringing earbud into the charging case. If the earbud is already in the charging case, it will stop ringing if you remove and reinsert it.
- If the earbuds are already in the charging case, closing the lid of the charging case will also silence any inserted earbuds. If the charging case lid is already closed, opening it and closing it again will silence the earbuds.
- Perform a valid gesture (such as raising or lowering the volume) on the ringing earbud.
- From the Find Device screen, tap Mute Left or Mute Right.
Check the last known location
Find My Device makes it easier to locate the earbuds when you’ve misplaced them.1 If you Fast Paired your Pixel Buds with a device running Android 6.0 and that has Location, it will remember the place it was last connected with your earbuds.
While this won’t give you an exact or current location, it can help you determine where to start looking. For example, you might have left the earbuds at your home or your workplace.

Depending on your device, you can change the settings for your earbuds in different ways:
On a Pixel phone with Android 10 : Go to Settings
On other Android devices: Open the Google Pixel Buds app - Tap Find device.
- If your Pixel Buds are currently disconnected, tap Last known location to go to Find My Device.
- Select your Pixel Buds from the list of active devices associated with your account.
Using the Find My Device Android app
- Open Find My Device Android app.
- Sign in to the Google account associated with your Pixel Buds.
- Select Pixel Buds.
Using a web browser
- Open the Find My Device page.
- Log into the Google account associated with your Pixel Buds.
- Select Pixel Buds.
